Didnt see any chinwag on this. Obviously hobby is the best bet but dont have a LCS, what would be the best retail option that people having success with? Blaster? Gravity Box, loose packs, Hanger box or jumbo packs?
Thanks guys, have a errand to run at Wal-mart so was thinking about getting some stuff.

Blasters. No chance at autos or relics in those, but the manufactured patches are selling incredibly well and people have been making some money off the blasters.

Pulled an auto (Wily Peralta, Poo) in a hangar box tonight.

My son got a blaster box and got a pretty neat Nolan Ryan patch.

I actually really like the look of the manufactured patches this year that they put in blasters. They are selling very well on eBay also (around $10).

Hit that, one or two codes, and you're basically at half the box after fees already. Decent break right now it seems.

Get the cereal boxes - for $20 you can get 2 and you have a shot at autos and relics. Plus they are not searched. The Manu patches in blasters might be selling now, but they will be old news next week

Order a jumbo box from blowout....but if you must buy retail, depends on what you want. As far as resale value, I'd go with blasters due to the patches and the 20 blue parallels per blaster. Hanger packs are good because they have 5 blues apiece as well as the Chasing History refractors and gold refractors (or whatever they're supposed to be called) that are confusing but sell well right now. I can't remember if those were in hanger boxes but those are good too, and they won't be searched so you'll have a better shot of getting a hit. But honestly the manufactured patches in blasters sell for more than most of the relics and autos you'd possibly pull anyway, so I'd go with blasters for sure, unless you want that miniscule chance of hitting a big card without worrying about making as much money back.

The day it hit the shelf at Walmart I bought a few packs, rack packs, and a blaster. You can check out the results here Dpmsportcards Blog (http://dpmsportcards.com/) Overall I hit a Game Used card in the single pack, a very nice looking patch card in the blaster, and got alot of inserts from all three items...

I bought two blasters and two cereal packs. Is that what they're called? I never knew haha.
I got a relic (Matt Moore!) in the Cereal and made my money back EASILY on the Blaster. I sold the MP relic for $8 and I hit a the Jackpot on RC...Trout, Harper and Green Bundy. Made $23 and still have lots left and my relic of Moore haha.
But I agree, they may not have resale in about a week.

Don't get sucked into the blaster hype though. The first wave of blasters almost always seem to be loaded with better stuff then once the product has been on the market a few week the newer shipments seem to get worse and worse.
That's not to say in April you won't pick up a blaster and pull a 1/1 it just seems that the odds are a lot better if you buy now rather than later.
The patch cards that are blaster exclusives are selling well now because they are new and everyone is trying to put together sets so there is a lot of competition for them. Again once the product has been out a while the prices will come down fast and most will settle in the $5-$8 range.
For instance the Trout manufactured Rc reprint patch is actually bringing more than the original 2011 Topps Update Rc right now. That won't last very long at all. It's almost funny

I can see that being standard for those two cards. I don't think the rc will ever be more
