I was wondering if anyone knew when BGS sends the email out to you when your grading order has been recieved, does that mean the cards have been graded already or are they in the process of grading them? Two reasons I ask this question:
1) I went with the 45 day service since I knew I would be deployed and wouldnt matter time frame because I wouldnt be home to see them anyway, but the cards were recieved by BGS late Dec 2012 but I didnt get the order recieved email until the 31st of Jan 2013, does that mean they have 45 days from the order recieved or 45 days from when they actually got the cards in the mail?
2) The amount that I figured I would pay was exactly $9 different from what the charged my credit card, so now I am thinking that one of the cards I sent is not going to get graded because it was $9 for each card at the 45 day service.
Any help anyone could provide that knows the inter-workings of BGS grading would be greatly appreciated.

No, the "received" e-mail does NOT mean they have started the grading process. I think it is something like +2 days from that e-mail? I forget....

Thanks for the help, do you know if they look at the cards first and decide if there are any that would not be graded, or would they not know that until they acutally look at in the grading process? Was just curious because of the money difference they actually charged me?

Your grading clock should start the day after they received your cards. So it wouldn't be 45 days after you got the e-mail since you got the e-mail a month after they received your cards. I think when they receive packages, they open them to determine what service level you chose, then put them in the appropriate bin based on that. Then they only log the order and send you the e-mail when they are getting ready to start the grading process on them.
Also, know that the 45 days is business days, it doesn't include weekends. So it's basically 9 weeks. However, it also doesn't include holidays, so that may throw it off by a couple of days depending on what days they took off at Christmas/New Year's.

I have only sent in 3 submissions, but I have never got a confirmation email that they received the package on any of my subs.

When I first sent them I wasnt sure if they did that or not and was getting kind of nervous because I hadnt heard from them that they had got the cards although I had DC so I knew they had them and then all of a sudden I got the email like a month later!
