EDIT/UPDATE:
Topps sent me a letter saying "It's within our normal quality control limits" really? I've sent in less damaged cards and received a replacement.
Should I send it back? Be adamant?
So this is the third Zunino Chrome color auto I've acquired so luck is on my side but this is the second one with damage from the manufacturer it seems.
This weekend I bought the remaining 6 packs of Chrome from my LCS and pulled a gold Zunino auto. Perfect auto, nice centering except on Zunino's noggin there's a giant bubble (like an air bubble). It's the second one I've seen on this product in the past month and I've never seen it happen before.
A few questions, I think it's a valid reason to send in for replacement but I wonder if it's too short of print to get the same card? Zunino is selling so well right now I bet I could still get $200 for it if I was lucky. It's a shame because I was immediately thinking sending it in until I found the bubble.
So next question, Topps will most likely take a month or two to replace this and by then who knows what Zunino cards will be worth.
So what would you guys recommend? I've only sent in a few cards here and there over the years for replacement.
Also another random question, why does Topps require the Packs/boxes? I have my receipt and I have my wrappers but if I didn't what is to stop me from going into a LCS and buying a single pack and claiming that was the auto? I don't understand.

If it is actually an air bubble, where the card is bubbling up, then I would send it back, b/c you would have a hard time grading/selling, if thats what you intend to do.

Well "Air bubble" is the best explanation I have. The bump is on the front and there's no indent on the back that would have made that bump. If that makes sense? So logically it's an air bubble or a rise where the top didn't adhere to the cardboard.

Send it back because you will have a hard time selling it on ebay. But that's if you plan on listing it.
ill give you 200 for it if you wanna sell.

odds are its a chrome dimple and if that's the case Topps will not replace it. Take a picture and let us see it.

There is not gurantee topps is going to replace it with another Zunino gold auto. I would sell it as is. Just be honest about the condition. I know they had huge issues with their bowman draft futures game patches having damaged corners and they were able to replace this cards with the same player (but obviously a different patch peice) this is not always the case though. Zunino has to be one of the top 3 autograph pulls in the set, and i would imagine a damaged zunino gold would sell for more than half the other autograph gold cards even in gem mint condition.

It's not an indent, it's a full on rise (hence the bubble thought).
I scanned it three ways til sunday and it won't show up. Which makes me even more nervous to try and sell it. It's VERY hard to photograph.
