Brandon Webb Retires

Brandon Webb is officially retiring from baseball. He was one of my favorite pitchers to watch. It's too bad he was never able to regain the magic he had in 06-08.

Unfortunately another great pitcher derailed by injuries. The list is way too long. Guys like Webb, Sheets, Prior, Wood, etc could all have been dominant for a long time

Sucks, he's from about 45 minutes from where I live. Was always hoping he'd be able to make a comeback.

-Dude was a solid keeper in my fantasy league for a few years there, too bad about the injuries, was solid as they come when healthy.

haha, i was thinking the exact same thing. For awhile he was as good or better than anyone in baseball. Better even than Randy Johnson for a brief moment.

He was a fun guy to watch a few years back. Oh man, I miss those Peavy/Webb duels back in the day!

Whenever I hear of careers over due to injuries, I head over to baseball reference and look at the career salary earned and don't feel so bad for them. :)
