What are everyone's thoughts about a must-buy product so far this year?

For me, this year has been a terrible year for football boxes... =/

Although Limited does look nice since they took it back to 07's configuration.

For the money, personally, I like Certified. When you look at the box & case breaks of this product on these boards, it seems like people have been getting a higher % of their money back then from most other products. I just think that Certified this year is a relatively good value and looks to be more loaded then in past years. Plus, there is always the possibility of pulling a 1/1 mirror black...

True. I just researched the product myself, and it appeals to me more than it has in year's past, and the price is a manageable $75.

Another product I've been looking at ripping is Topps Finest. I want to buy mini-boxes, but the only seller I can find that will sell specifically mini-boxes is this guy:

2009 TOPPS FINEST F/S HOBBY FOOTBALL MINI BOX SANCHEZ? - eBay (item 330374546879 end time Nov-09-09 18:30:04 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/2009-TOPPS-FINEST-F-S-HOBBY-FOOTBALL-MINI-BOX-SANCHEZ_W0QQitemZ330374546879QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Football?hash=item4cebdb85bf)

Do you think it's trustworthy?

The patch autos out of this product look great, and for $50 per mini, it would seem like a great deal in addition to all the other refractors and numbered cards. How is the resale value with these cards?

I have to say, I don't think there has been an absolute stink fest of a product so far, minus SP SE.I have found myself buying a lot of product that i neer liked to buy before, like Donruss Threads, Donruss Certified, Bowman Draft etc...

I saw some of your breaks of The Cup, and that product looks LOADED! I want to at least buy a few singles out of that, or maybe someday even buy a whole box. We college students aren't exactly as loaded as the product itself. ;)

BTW, Monsters...if you have any sick Predators or Flyers cards you want to unload let me know. They're my teams.

I think the most impressive product so far, not taking price into account, has been Absolute. I like the short print runs and sick patches and they really did a great job with it. I've been buying on the secondary market though b/c it's hard to justify the break for $140/box. You can buy all the very best cards for under $100, so I've been getting them that way.

As far as product for value, maybe topps chrome retail for those who like it. My preference has actually been Donruss Limited. With the unannounced increase of a third hit in every box, the guys who bought it as a pre-order (like me :) ) really made out. You end up paying about $25/hit and some of the hits are really nice. you will get a card that sells for $40 out of at least every other box with some really high dollar stuff mixed in.

I will always go with chrome myself...though Absolute has surprised me a little bit.

This sounds like a plug for the Sportkings Super Boxes. ;)

Speaking of which, these Super Boxes would be my favorite release of the year given both value, limited print runs, "sick patches", etc. What an outstanding product!

There were only 200 boxes made. Each Super Box contained 2 Series B SK boxes that retailed around $325 each plus in each box you are guaranteed 1 Super Box 1/1 jumbo patch card that has an average secondary market value of over $500. That's right, those 1/1 cards average over $500, and you get 1 per box!

I did very well with Topps Chrome retail. I have actually made my money back and have another master set and a ton of cards left to move.

I did very well with Absolute, made money on 6 boxes as well as Limited.

I have some Mayo coming. I was going to do 5 cases but have quickly decided against it. I think I will do 1 Mayo and 1 Certified.

Too bad the rest of the stuff in the boxes averaged about $100 back.

When you guys buy Topps Chrome Retail, where can you find a case of this? I have seen some on eBay that are 16 boxes, 8 packs each box, 4 card / pack. Is this the stuff you all are opening?

Two best cases for me were Regular Topps football and Topps Magic. The worst cases were Upper Deck SP Signature Edition and Donruss Elite. I did not make my money back on any Panini case that I ripped and flipped. I am hoping my luck changes with Gridiron Gear.

I have not bought very much this year so very limited on what I have opened.

Best Hobby Prestige 3 boxes 3 of my 5 auto's were either 1st rounders or star players
good selection of high draft picks and lower draft picks
each box had at least 1 duel/quad GU

Best retail Magic I liked getting older player in college jersery's nice to hit auto's in the boxes as well.
