Don't you just love going through old boxes of common Rc's

I have bought a ton of boxes in the past couple of years since I reentered the hobby. Usually what I do is separate all of the Rc's that won't be toploaded, all of the star cards, and all of the commons. I have 5000 count boxes for each of them. Every once in a while I will go through those common Rc's and find a bunch of gems.

Just a few minutes ago, I found 4 Kaepernick RC's, a few Von Millers, a few JPP's, etc. etc. It's like finding free money. Anyone have any stories of any cool finds that they didn't even realize they had?

I pulled the ashtray out of my truck a few years ago and found 3 tightly folded $100 bills that I forgot I stashed away.

So I stopped off and got a Pork Torta and hit up the LCS

I love when that happens. I pulled out a bunch of Profar and Taveras bowman cards...baseball, but you get the idea.

I do that as well. Just incase I forget my wallet or need something out on the road. Never hurts to stash

Seems like every year I pluck a few gems out from the obscure rookies box.. My best was Tom Brady though, still remember pulling dupes of his rookies and being pissed during his rookie year.. In the long run it worked out though!

No huge finds, but when Kaep prices were at their peak I went back through my boxes of 2011 Topps Chrome and found 2 Refractor RCs and 2 Base Rcs. They sold for $52 and change at auction :)

Few years ago, I bought some packs for my nephew. We just went threw his cards and found a 1/1 plate of Michael Clayton. Nothing big, but he flipped when I told him it was 1/1!

I have found autos of Alex Smith, Greg Jennings, Miles Austin, DeMarcus Ware, Clay Matthews, Karp, Matt Flynn (hey he was hot for a little bit), James Harden (BK), etc. Pretty fun.

I found several hundred Magic: The Gathering cards and Garbage Pail Kid cards in cardboxes I had stashed under the bed when I moved into my place last millennium.

I thought I had gotten rid of them, but was happy to still have them. I almost have the urge to complete the GPK's. I have a few series one and then most of em up to around #500.

Found an Adrian Peterson insert #12/25 in a box of my crap cards a few months ago.

About 10 years back I purchased a monster box of cards for $10 that were filled with what I thought were mostly junk inserts. I ended up finding a Tom Brady Ultra RC among others in the box. Needless to say, the box turned a nice profit. After all, the box was already a steal at $10. The Brady just made it a robbery. I sold it in 2007 when he had his record breaking year.

Cleaning ths past week and found 1 V. Cruz rc, 5 tc ref kapernicks , 1 tc orange ref kaepernick, 5 tc base kapernick....why did I nt clean my office 3 weeks ago. Found others n the past but this was he most recent.

Back in 1981 I bought out every store in my area of their 1981 topps football. I pulled out all the steelers and saints, billy simms and joe cribbs rc's and basically forgot about the rest for several years. A few years later I went through them and I had 7 Montana's, and about that many Art Monk's RC's.
