well i know this is a given, but i recently got NFL Sunday ticket so im not limited to the weekly Titans game

so was flipping through and stopped on the Lions/Vikings game...and what do you know both announcers drinking the Favre kool-aid

they were going through the list of sports and most consecutive games played..and i kid you not the announcers were talking about Cal Ripkens Iron Man..

"well you gotta remember Favre has 11 guys coming after his head every play...if he was playing baseball id give his 300 consecutive games at least 15000 baseball games as an equivalent..but not taking away form Ripken or anything"

are these people really that stupid and ignorant?

Did they actually say that? If so, even with the MAX number of games per season (162 regular season+1 tiebreaker+19 playoff) of 182, that's a little over 82 years. If he could start in the MLB very early (say, age 18), he would play until he was 100.

Completely plausible :D

you are either joking or very pathetic...

i live in Nashville but am not a Titans fan..havent been for some time now..just like any other NFL city thw hometown team usually has a contract deal with local stations (i assume at least)..so just like any other person who lives in an NFL city and might not be a fan i have no other choice

its the weekly Titans game and the late game on Fox..those are my two choices..so yes since im not a Titans fan why would i not want something more??

secondly, even if i was a Titans fan, why would i want to suffer and actually watch there horrible games..especially getting killed in the snow against the Pats..no offense to Titans fans

so again you are either joking or reallyneed to get a life...ungrateful? wow
how bout you stick to the topic of the post in the future

LOL, it was actually a little bit of both... I would choose a Titans game over a Donkey game any day. I am just pointing out that sometimes, you just gotta make due with what you have because someone somewhere else actually wouldn't mind having your options... BTW the Titans kicked the crud out of the Bills today, making them 3-0 over the last three weeks. Johnson ran for 132 yards and caught 100 more, what a terror! Young goes 17/25 for 210 yards, what a great day for him... Even without the defensive touchdowns the Titans still would of won! Give more credit where it is due cdub, just because they lost the opening 6 doesn't mean they suck eggs, it just means they took a while to hit their stride!

They weren't "vikings announcers" they were FOX announcers. And I remember the same kind of fawning over Favre by broadcast crews when he played in Green Bay.

ok what exactly am i suppose to give the Titans credit for??

theyre not making the playoffs..yes theyve won 3 straight games and actually look like the football team they should have been

shouldi give credit to your dumbass coach for refusing to make the move to Young earlier in the season??

i wasnt trying to bash the Titans or fans..but calling me ungratefulbecauseim not a fan and didnt wanna be stuck watching their game week after week..please

I heard the comment too and the other guy tried to cover it up by saying no one was throwing fastballs at Favre's head. It was a stupid comparrison and no one even mention the NASCAR guy who makes a living where people die each year (maybe not in NASCAR but in car racing).

Ron "Jaws" Jaworski is the best play by play analyst on T.V. He and Collinsworth are the only two worth listening to IMO.

They were the normal national broadcasters, and they were talking about it in terms of seasons and how many games that would be for baseball.

It was stupid, but they did say it.

Really? The announcers I heard talk about this were the FOX announcers, not PA.
