I've been a HUGE Heat and Hurricane basketball fan for practically all my life.

Although basketball is not my favorite sport (that goes to football), basketball was the first sport I came to love and it's the main reason why I'm a huge sports fan today.

I never imagined that both the Heat and Hurricanes would be real contenders at their respective leagues in the same year!

But the possibility is here, "The U" winning the National Championship and the Heat repeating as NBA Champions.

This would surely make the city of Miami a solid "basketball city".....would it not?

It just might but I would rather see Alabama sneak into the Tourny (won't happen) and win the Championship to get both football and basketball

It would even be better if they did make it and played Notre Dame in the Champ game and beat them again. That has only happened once (Flordia beat OSU in both a few years ago) and prob will never happen again

I think it would just make it a city with good Basketball teams for that particular year. I don't think any city in Florida is really a "(insert sport here) city".

Well, for the majority of the 70s and 80s, Miami was indeed a GOOD football city.

The Dolphins went to 5 super bowls winning 2 of them, and "The U" won 4 National Titles in the 80s and early 90s.

However, at the moment I would agree with your comment.

I'm hoping things change.

Because having a city which has consistent good teams in a particular sport is good for said city and it makes the other sports teams want to do better.

The U isn't winning the championship. They peaked early and have squeaked by lately. They are about to get beat by Duke in Durham. They wont make the final four.

The Heat will win it all though.
