Because it wast the only way they could get the hard-signed cards and release this stuff in time. They should have pushed this back to February and had the NFL unis. They could have had NFL uni patches, etc... as well. The college unis are really going to hurt singles sales.

All the more reason to wait for SPA, Ultimate and Exquisite... But I'm sure the UD ballwashers (copyright 2009, CaptainBOHICA) will love this stuff, lol.

I'm not sure I'll be able to get into these. The flags not being signed don't make sense to me. Not loving the college uniforms on the rookie autos.

Wow, sure as hell ain't worth the money if a case is like 2000 and the biggest card you pull is a Tom Landy cut /26. Singles all the way for me.

The funny thing is you guys are griping and acting surprised about stuff that has been known since the product was announced. Flag patches are the base cards, college unis so they could do on card autos and release earlier. Yes they are not great but its not like it was hidden from us until release. I am disappointed in the cuts as I feel they should be really good cuts for a 2000 dollar 20 pack case hit. No Cut should be of a person who will not sell for at least 300 bucks is my opinion.

Wow, those are effin' ugly. You can barely see the signature. It has this terrible "Uh-mer-I-CA, EFFF YAHHHH" smell to it.

I'm surprised the pack doesn't play "Proud to be an American" when you open it up.

I hate the USA patches, it's only cool when the flags are from a variety of countries, not all USA. Horrible product. Luckily, the money I was going to spend on all of this can now go to something better.

Maybe Upper Deck will produce a Black Soccer for you so you can enjoy those multi-country patches...untill then if you are looking for that variety of countries...Football might not be the sport for you.

how do you buy a product without research it
ud black was always doomed from the start we talked about it on other threads
ud black basketball great product cause of jordan / lebron / kobe they drive up market value.
just like baseball has topps sterling cause of guys like mantle and ruth
football just doesnt have the high dollar players for case hits now if this was 2007 and you have peterson that might be a way.
but in 2009 no rookie card except for harvin or a nice 1/1 is going to get 200-300
one cut or dual cut per case is a nice case hit however there was no checklist that came out

Although I think the college Uniforms suck, its pretty much impossible to get pro uniform stuff signed this early. There are too many players who wouldnt get their cards back in time. Then you would all complain about redemptions.

I think this product looks pretty effing cool.

Plus that Ronnie lott card's scan is cut off I believe.

I don't like the College uniforms in a high price tag product. I think that is just garbage and plain poor judgment. However, I like the singles for the veterans and I don't mine the autographed USA flag patches - so I will probably pick them up cheap. Nothing like getting some veteran and HOF autographs for a few bucks.

I am probably in the minority, but I like college uniforms on the rookie cards and wish they were all like this for consistency. With free agency, you end up with rookie cards of star players in different uniforms from different teams (brees, favre, etc.). I would be curious if vikings fans would rather have an RC of favre in packers uniform or his college uniform (yeah, I know he was in atlanta, but just as an example).

I'll be opening a few boxes tonight as well I hope!

What would be cool is if the rookies had BOTH college and pro jerseys and only have dual auto/jersey max. It would be unique for sure. Either that or make all the print runs to 10 or some even number and divide between college and pro jersey.

The comment was more dumb than anything else. Football is dominated by Americans so it makes sense. Now if it was any other sport product he would have a point.

Black is a nice product for single buyers but not for the sellers.

Well I'm not a fan of this stuff, but I am a fan of college cards. I don't ever hear complaints on AP college uni cards. The best versions IMO are those that have game used college jersey in them and are auto'd. As far as this stuff, I'll stay away and wait for something better.
