Personally, I think they rank just below the gold chrome refractor. I paid $95 for my T.Y. Hilton Cracked Ice redemption. Good luck finding a Gold Chrome auto of him for anywhere near that price.

They are fairly close in price on the big guys actually. The last luck gold sold for less actually. There's a RG3 gold that's on eBay now for $1500 OBO and the last cracked ice auctioned for $1400.

i just got back in the hobby.. contenders has been by far my favorite product this year.. i didn't really open any chrome though.. ill have to look into it.. but i love the cracked ice.. im trying to complete the seahawks set for the playoff tickets and cracked ice.

i like them a lot. with the seahawks.. the colors really pop because of the ice.. i had seen them online and was like eh.. was trying to get a sherman but wasn't willing to fork over 60 bucks for a non auto card.. then i opened a pack of contenders and a bobby wagner cracked ice came out.. they are sickkkk in person.. i wish i woulda paid the 50-80 the shermans were sellin for for all 4 or 5 i've seen available! i eventually traded for one and its my favorite card i own (and i own a andrew luck contenders playoff ticket) especially with the seahawks colors.. they just look vibrant. some of the other teams with the dull colors dont impress me as much.

you are one lucky girl to have found a wilson cracked ice. i envy you.

I have the Chandler Harnish, Vick Ballard and LaVon Brazill and they're all stunning in person. Although I still believe Chrome to be king, I absolutely love the Cracked Ice autos, sticker or no sticker. They really are gorgeous cards - much like the 2011 Topps Chrome Crystal Atomics. They just pop out at you when you see them in person. I can't wait for the redemptions to come in!!!:cool:

I think the'll be certain players best cards. Someone like Josh Gordon didn't have cards in Finest, Platinum and Chrome. Aside from his Sterling Super and Championship Ticket, it's by far his best card.

They're really nice in person but can peel very easily.

Very true, almost makes Gordon's Cracked ICE/20 a 1/1, being the rarity of it. It seems that these Cracked ICE's also have a different feel/stock/weight to them...thicker and almost like a tag-board feel or something. I just sent mine in for grading, ecpecting a 9.5 at the very least. Card is MINTY fresh:)

Honestly, I'd say that the edges would be the most difficult on these. Possibly the surface as well. As for the corners(the Luck listed above got hit for)I would think that ther'd have to be some kind of noticeable dent/ding for it to get a 8.5. If I saw that kind of issue with it, I wouldn't have even sent it in to be honest. NO doubt that the 8.5 hurt that beauty:( I would'v just left it raw. Then again, I have a pretty good eye so maybe he missed that part. Maybe Beckett had a bad day, who knows. All in all, if it looks good at first glance, then it probably is:)! Don't ever second guess yourself my friend. Every card I've submitted to BGS has come back a 9.5 or better. Luck some might say...:rolleyes: (I think not lol)

The edges and surface will be the toughest to grade with cracked ice autos. Like I mentioned before, one of mine has the top layer peeling on the bottom.

It seems like these are an easy grade this year...most Contenders in general are grading well. I think your Wilson will do just fine;)

I actually think these are harder to grade this year. I noticed a lot of the cards come damaged out of the pack. Foil peeling at the top and bottom are fairly common from what I noticed.

since it's on card i'd put it equal to the red ref which is a sticker. i know those sold huge but now that there stickers they wont sell near what they have.

I'd rather pay what I paid and get the cracked ice :) but the reds will be preatty for sure. I guess I'll say I'd rather have the cracked ice since I have one Incomming :)

I will probably never get a luck rg or Wilson auto unless I pull one. But I would avoid all Wilson chrome autos like the plaque.
