send it like this, "forexample" "@" my name is "gmail" "dot" com"

Yeah, that didn't work for me either...I literally put it out all spaced, with wild cards, etc. No dice...
That sucks because its an easy way to win a card and not worry about a bidding war...

Hell, it may all be a moot point. The seller just asked me to pay gift via the Beckett boards...

Is CD7 off suspension?

I think Amendola will have more catches, yards and TD's than Welker in 2013 (kidding but this should get addicted to troll).

I tried the same except a hotmail address and got nothing.
After getting asked to pay gift, I'm going to just let the auction run and see what happens. I'd rather not have the card than risk a couple hundred $ and not have any protection. Getting asked to pay gift after an hour of going back and forth just set off warning bells for me...

Is the "dot" and "com" even needed anymore? I would think most people would assume it is a ".com" address unless listed otherwise. Wonder if that would help.

ask buyer to text you and then provide it via text. i just did this last week after ebay wouldn't let me send 100 different versions of a message with my email address.

i even tried to edit a description of an active item to add "if you have any questions please email me at ....." but it rejected that as well.

why are they not allowing it? so you can't complete off eBay transactions?

Actually, yes, you got it right. eBay sent out emails and notices a few months ago explaining that they were revamping their messages program to ensure that NO email addresses were being transmitted through the system. It was done to prevent off eBay transactions because you lose the seller protection from a scammer. It's also primarily done to ensure that eBay gets their cut of the transactions.

Their new system is very good at catching any attempts to transmit email addresses. You're best bet is to see if the person you're selling to will send you his phone number or cell number so you can either call or text him. It's probably the only way to do off eBay transactions, if you're into that stuff. I never do any transactions off eBay because most people asking to do that, are usually shady to begin with IMO.

not true, i recently bought an item off a guy and he didnt even have it listed, it was a PC item i tracked to him. once we settled on a price and i got the item it was fine but he was firm on pricing. im willing to do off ebay transactions as long as it's paypal and the first sign of anything funny i threaten a claim

Paypal has seller protection, make sure address is confirmed, even if it is and it is a PO Box I always add SC... you send with DC, if over 250 you are required to add SC. For your own sake insure the item. People say USPS is sorry, but I had my Peterson NT /99 bgs 9.5/10 auto sold here to member for 195, got damaged, filed claim, 10 days later check was in my hands.

Here's a VERY easy way around it since you can add pictures in messages now

Write it down on a piece of paper, take a picture of said paper with writing, and add the picture as an attachment in the message

BOOM! Roasted eBay!
