I'm trying to find either an auto or auto/jersey set to chase. Here's what I'm looking for:

1) Something with a substantial number of cards (40+)

2) Looking only for HOFers

3) On-card autos

4) No Press Pass, Sage, etc.

5) Numbering is fine, but not so low-numbered that I'll never see half the cards I'm after.

I'm working on the 1997 Legends auto set, but I thought I'd find a purely HOF set to go after as well. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to post.

The next best set after the 97 is the 99 passing the torch. Most of them are in the HOF and it contains two of the best football cards ever produced.

Thats the set with Manning/Unitas and Sanders/Payton? Ouch.

That would be a good one. Other suggestions?

Since you want oncard only you pretty much have to collect a set from 2000 or older

1997 legends is the best but you are already collecting that one

try 2000 Greats of the game it has an 86 on card auto set.. they look like this

2000 Fleer Greats of The Game Joe Greene Autograph Auto Steelers F6348 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Fleer-Greats-of-the-Game-JOE-GREENE-AUTOGRAPH-AUTO-STEELERS-F6348-/400378355869?pt=US_Football&hash=item5d3868e09d)
2000 Greats of The Game HOF George Blanda Auto Raiders | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-GREATS-OF-THE-GAME-HOF-GEORGE-BLANDA-AUTO-RAIDERS-/181054105934?pt=US_Football&hash=item2a27aa694e)

I like the checklist. Any idea how short-printed the SPs are?

I like the look of the cards, I think I'll give it a shot. I'm trying to work on at least one HOF auto set for each major sport.
