Ok this might be kinda long, but please bear with me.

I know this person, runeatfish, is a member of the forums too, so hopefully they can shed some light on the problem too.

Back on Feb 17th, I posted this thread regarding buying some Contenders Blasters....this was when they first came out.

As you can see, I stated that I sold the Brockers Rookie Playoff Ticket within 10 minutes of listing it on eBay....It was the first one on eBay at the time. It sold for $150.

Sell paid right away and I shipped the next day.

It was delivered to the buyer and they left positive feedback on Feb. 25th.

I leave to go out of town for work and receive a message from the buyer March 4th stating that the item is not as described and wants a refund and will be sending it back.

I didn't get around to the message right away as I was very busy the first few days and when I finally did get around to the message, the buyer had opened a case against me.

I gave eBay all the information stating how the item is as described...how in the picture you can clearly see that it's the Rookie Playoff Ticket redemption, and that it is stated in the title what it was. I also, stated how mine was the first one on eBay at the time, and when it sold right away, I can not dictate how the market will respond to others afterwards.

Anyways, eBay sided w/ the buyer (shocking!!!) and now I have a negative amount in PayPal. The buyer created a "tracking number" via UPS on March 6th, and as it stands, I have yet to receive the card back to me and nothing has updated with the tracking number. I just got home last night from being out of town for 2 weeks and I received other cards I won and bought, but not this card yet.

So right now I am out of the card and the money. Any thing I should do?? Can I contact eBay and get them to reverse the PayPal transaction since the card hasn't arrived yet??

Any help would be great, as this is my first time dealing with something like that.

Bet you get the card back and it is already redeemed. I hate people sometimes.

How was it not as described? I mean, other than buyer's remorse, what was his reasoning?

If he can never show it was dlvd back to you, you should win

No idea. The auction title and the picture of the card states that it's the rookie playoff ticket.

Anyone have eBays phone number??

I got that info off of the Ebay forums. I havent tried it, but a lot of people said it worked

I don't know if they will reverse it but I would be on the phone with Ebay as soon as possible. I'm a little surprised that they would side on the buyers side unless there was something glaringly wrong, especially after a positive feedback.

Throw an update as things progress I'm interested to hear how this plays out. Good Luck!

I'm currently on hold w/ eBay right now. I'll let you know what I find out because the lady said that if there's no update to the tracking or me receiving the card back in 7 days then the case decision could possibly be reversed. It's currently on day 10.

She's checking on a few things for me.

Update:

Spoke with a lady earlier today at eBay regarding my situation. Explained everything and told her that I had yet to receive the card back. Have her the tracking number that was listed for the return via ups. She checked and saw that there had been no update from ups receiving or sending the package.

Apparently they have 10 full days to return things to you. Today was day 10, so she had to wait until the end of the day to make sure there was no update from ups. There wasn't. So they reversed their decision in my favor and took the hold off my Paypal account and will redeposit the money into my account.

I have nothing to do now regarding the case as its been closed.

Glad eBay actually helped the seller out for once.

Wow it's good to hear successful stories like these. I'm always afraid to sell anything high end off eBay nowadays.

That's bs that he can file a claim after leaving you positive feedback; typical ebay but at least you ended up winning this; another reason why the return policy for sports cards should be changed

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty happy. I highly doubt the buyer ever planned to send back the card and was hoping to also get his money back and leave me with nothing.

I don't understand how a buyer can open a case either once they leave positive feedback and how eBay then could side with him, as they should be able to see he left positive feedback.

Either way, it's done, but it was a pain to deal with but I'm glad I made the call as I feel I hadn't misled the buyer and also since it had been 10 days and no sign of the card being delivered or even scanned into UPS.
