2013 Bowman Baseball Jumbo or Hobby Boxes?

New to the boards..... I would like to start off by saying you guys do a great job on here answering most questions and seem to know quite a bit about this hobby. I have about 5k to spend and I planned on picking up some 2013 Bowman Baseball. Just not sure which way to go Jumbo or Hobby?

I got 7 jumbo cases and spent $6650. I like the 3 autos per box and the chance at purple refractor autos. I am going to try and snag up 2 or 3 hobby cases though just for the fun of breaking and I think at times they contain more color. $5k will get you a nice combination of cases. Could go with 3 of each, 5 jumbo's, or about 7 hobby cases for that amount of money. 5 jumbo cases would get you a minimum of 120 autos.

So 7 cases of Hobby get's you 84 autos while spending the same amount on Jumbo will get you 120 autos? Does not sound like the math adds up?

It doesn't add up.... BUT the hobby traditionally seems to produce more color. I busted 4 jumbo's and 1 Hobby case of '12 Bowman at release last year and my jumbo's were awesome. The hobby wasn't bad at all though and it cost me about $300 less than the jumbo's did. Also, the jumbo's are alot funner to bust, knocking out 32 cards per pack goes alot faster than the hobby packs.

You will get more color non auto from hobby but obviously more autos from Jumbos. I busted 3 jumbo cases and 2 hobby from 12 bowman and I got almost double the color non autos from the hobby. But my biggest hits came out of jumbo.

I cracked 2 cases of 2012 Bowman Draft and 1 jumbo case. I got raped on the jumbo. Autos added up to maybe 400.00 in it.

Each has pros and cons, it all just depends on price point. If you can get in early jumbo is the way to go. If you are late to the party pick up the hobby. Or just get 'em all! There is no such thing as too much wax.

5 cases of hobby coming. As stated more autos from jumbo but also more of a cost. More color from hobby which is an attraction to several different customers which is the reason I go that way.
