One, what is dufex technology specifically?
Two, do they still use it?
Three, what are the most famous instances of dufex being used in football?

One: It was a Pinnacle card "technology" in the 90s.
Two: I guess Panini is brought it back for Pinnacle Hockey and calling it "nufex". How creative... Panini QC Gallery: 2010-11 Pinnacle Hockey | The Official Panini America Blog (http://paniniamerica.wordpress.com/2011/04/13/panini-qc-gallery-2010-11-pinnacle-hockey/#more-5547)
Three: Not sure... probably late 90s cards before Pinnacle went belly up.

1) It's a kind of foil treatment started by Pinnacle in the early 90s.
2) Panini used it in Pinnacle Hockey last year (and maybe the year prior).
3) Probably in the Select Few and Gold Team inserts in Select Certified Edition.

Most famous is definitely the 1995 Pinnacle Artist Proofs. That and the 95 Pinnacle Museum Collection Joe Montana Tribute that was pulled from packs.

Also, the 1995 Zenith Z-Team cards were CRAZY back in the day!

Man are those ugly. Then again, I hate most of the 1990s inserts.

Man, I was going to scan my Favre Gold Team card and post it up right now, but I must have put it away. It was sitting on my computer desk not too long ago. That would have changed your tune!

Top Left is the Artist Proof.... At one time, the Marino base Artist Proof was worth over $300...

Yep, that's the Favre I have. I remember I pulled that, a Rice Select Few and a Favre Select Few all from the same box. One of the best boxes I ever bought (relatively speaking, of course).

That was awesome at release. Only thing better would have been if you got a Mirror Gold of Terrell Davis and waited 3 years to sell it.

Thats what makes me laugh when people pull a 1/1 of one of these auto/patch/RC craziness and say its worth $500. Wonder what they'd think if they knew people were willingly shelling out $800 for a 1:5 pack, unnumbered parallel insert of the top rookie.

Last I recall hearing about dufex was 2005 Zenith.

Appreciate the replies.
Saw this Canseco online in my research.
Does anyone know if any football cards had that type of look to them?

LOL. Thanks. I am starting to realize more and more collectors of now have no idea about football cards of the 90s. Being in it forever, I assume most people on the site have too, but I am so very wrong.

No problem. If you like the bright gold look of the Canseco though, I'd try hitting up the Artist Proofs. The Trophy ones are very dark in person, while the Artist Proofs light up. I'd also check out the 97 Pinnacle Inscriptions base set (All Dufex) and the Artist Proof versions of those as well.

What I like about the Canseco is that all of the background is covered up by those pinwheel type segments of gold. It's just him and the slats of gold.
