Come on, no soccer fans?
USA got a decent draw in Group C. Good chance they make the second phase.
And Group G is the group of death. Brazil, Portugal, and Ivory Coast. Serves the North Koreans right to be lumped into that mess.

USA wanted England and we got it! Aside from USA I am a big Portuguese fan. I hope Ronaldo stomps on North Korea.

in my opinion ronaldo is the arod of soccer. when it comes to the big games he never does anything. yet he is considered the best. ( i know arod came through this season )
im a huge soccer fan and cant wait for this. i think portugal have been huge under achievers. they barely made it into the cup. but in the same group as brazil ? ouch

The Irish got hosed this year, so I will likely be boycotting most of the WC this year. I'll stick to the US games and thats about it.

I have three teams to go for in the WC USA, Italy, and Japan. Japan irritates me every time. They play well but when they get to the WC they seem to not be able to win besides in the 2002 Cup. Hopefully they can get out of their group. Their in a tough group with Netherlands, Denmark, and Cameroon but Japan's beaten Denmark and Cameroon before so it should be intereting. I thought Italy got put into a pretty easy group with Paraguay, Slovakia, and New Zealand. How the hell did North Korea sneak into the WC? I hope they get beat by 10 every game.

I bought a box of 07 futera before. Saha haunts that product.

the only soccer at my lcs is MLS stuff. i may try it some day. i think it would be cool to have a world cup set of cards. just imagine the autos they could stuff into a product like that.
as for teams, i always like Brazil. they always seem to have the most talent on their teams. and team USA is always a personal pick. i just hope they can do better than the 06 showing.

I'll be cheering for S.Korea. They have a moderate draw I would say. Argentina, Greece, and Nigeria can all play, but I think S.Korea still has a shot at taking games from Greece and Nigeria. Argentina has been playing sloppy lately too, so a draw is definitely possible. I'd say it's between S.Korea and Greece for the second slot.
Group C seems pretty good for the USA and England, both should get in easily
I wonder if I'll ever see Canada in the WC in my lifetime, lol

S. Korea use to be really good, I don't really know now since I don't follow that closely anymore. I remember in the 2002 WC, they made the final 4. It was very questionable because of the officiating against Italy but they did make the final four in 02. Who remembers that Italy/SK game back in 02?

My boys of Portugal got a tough draw. I still feel like they should be able to get out of that group though. And for my second favorite, I'm glad the US got a decent draw. It will be interesting to see how well they can perform.

I am rooting for orange slices and dudes getting hauled off the field on a stretcher only to sprint back onto the field 5 minutes later.

Don't forget the magical water that the trainers spray on knees/ankles that allow the guys to pop up and run around on what has to be a broken bone based on the rolling around and scowling :D

If they do, Men-tally-IL will declare his team winners in the new lowest score wins soccer rules ;)
