Not a Braves fan myself, but love Smoltz and knew you guys would appreciate what I picked up Thursday evening:

http://i.ebayimg.com/t/2012-National-Treasures-John-Smoltz-Button-Jsy-Auto-41-2-6-/00/s/ODQ1WDExMzg=/z/HFEAAMXQfFJRVOG0/$T2eC16F,!y8E9s2fjE+QBRVOGz45)!~~60_58.JPG

Best part was I paid $100.99 for it. My max bid was $179.34. I had been trying to get one of these from the two sellers on eBay with the OBO option for a month straight, offering $220 at one point. The previously sold ones of this card, /6, went for $206 and $193. :flex:

This is the first button card in my collection of anybody. Very pleased.

Now THAT is a steal.
It will be worth 5-7 times that easy within a few years after his HOF entry

Great card, especially at half of the going rate.

I hope, though I doubt THAT much... Still, I think this could potentially be a $300 card at some point. Not that I will ever move it, but... :)

Thanks guys. Feels good to steal one every now and then.

 It's a non-licensed product...and he may not even make the HOF, but if he does I highly doubt it will be worth 5-7 times more easy?

Cool pickup OP and for a good price in comparison to others. I just don't like the lack of an MLB license in the product. If this had a license then no doubt product of the year, it has a great design.

That is literally all I care about. If it's aesthetically pleasing, you shouldn't even notice the lack of licensing. Topps has released some butt ugly stuff in the past. I'd rather have something that looks great than something that looks like this:

Ick. Those On the Rise autos were effing disgusting.

And he'll definitely make the Hall. Only guy with 200 wins and 150 saves. Voters get off on stupid stats like that (I think he deserves to anyway, but wins? Saves? They love that stuff).

I'd say it's more likely that it will be worth 7 times what he paid than Smoltz not making the HOF. Sweet card, pumping me up for the break!

Hey, I have 3 Alex Cobb, 2 Brad Hand, and who knows what other crap player On The Rise autos, don't knock those beauties (that had a higher print run than the base cards).

Man, nice card. Just a question about all these button cards - does the button actually stick out from the card, or is the cardboard thick enough that it lies flat? Just curious as to how it would be stored and put into a pack if the button actually sticks out.

Very little to zero chance he doesn't make the HOF. Only pitcher to have 200+ wins and 150+ saves. Add over 3000 k's and a 3.33 lifetime ERA. I'd say he's a virtual lock.

Beautiful card OP. Great price.

200 Wins AND 150 Saves (Only Player EVER) + 3,000 Strikeouts and career 3.33 ERA....

That means there is no question he will make it to the Hall Of Fame, only question is if he is a first ballot or not.

I didn't say he wouldn't make it? I said "if". The way the voters vote anymore it wouldn't shock me. Does he deserve the Hall? Absolutely IMO. You just never know.

They stick WAY out, it's like a button on your shirt that is about to fall off. Part of me thinks that is really cool, instead of it being behind clear plastic and the other part of me thinks it makes it look cheesy.

I don't have to worry about it, because I can't buy $400 packs, lol

Also a great point. To be honest, the Hall is a joke anyway, so it doesn't really matter who is in or out of it to me at this point. If I think they were one of the best of their era is how I define it these days, along with the advanced stats that we have the luxury of viewing these days.

I haven't gotten the card yet, but I will post pics of how far out the button protrudes once it arrives. :)!

Haha, I got Josh Thole, Colby Rasmus and Alex White if anybody wants to buy them! I also hit an Allen Craig, but I will be keeping that (ugly) card.

I see, I also don't have to worry about that, just wondering how obvious it would be in an unopened pack, and the potential for damage to the button. They look awesome though!

For this product, it comes in a friggin' tiny sealed box AND a metal tin. Really kinda cool, to be honest. Only busted one box but my results were the best ever for me in the history of the hobby (http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/baseball-box-breaks/471839-one-box-2012-national-treasures-crazy-good-dual-book-auto-cards-fans-look-too.html).

As for stuff like Gypsy Queen, those come in the mini box within the box. Beyond that, I don't know.
