Not sure if this was posted but he was brilliant again today. He has now started the year off with 16 scoreless innings with 16 Ks, 1 walk, and just 6 hits. Anyone else think this is a start to a Koufax-esque year?

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKershaw
2 starts in. Can't say anything. IMO Kershaw is just being Kershaw. Hopefully he doesn't stay in that dump the Dodgers call a stadium for too much longer.

Sorry man. Haven't been there to see the new renovations but last time I was there I was very disappointed. Probably the worst park I've been to.

two stellar starts but you also have to consider that he has faced only the Giants and Pirates lineups so far

I was going to say that... and both starts have been at home...if he manages to go to Cinci/Washington/SF/St Louis and dominate then we can start the Koufax-like season... personally I see him going something like 20-10/22-8 and the dodgers still miss the playoffs bc the rest of the rotation likes chicken wings and beer!

Or Shea Stadium? I absolutely loved that place, but man was it a dump.

The Pirates have no homeruns and only 4 extra base hits as well.

Was my pick for Cy Young entering 2013. Would consider another pitcher, but still not confident on how the organization will treat him.
He's not even 26 yet. Think about that...
If Kershaw stays healthy and productive, the sky's the limit.

What's wrong with that? It's not like Koufax's career is untouchable.

Best pitcher in baseball last 3 years and will be for the next 8 years I think as long as he stays healthy

How many parks have you been to? Which ones?

Hahah only difference is that the Coliseum is still alive and kicking. It's still a great place to go to, though, even for an Angels fan like myself :).
Also it's funny that someone from San Bernardino County is calling Dodger Stadium a dump. I keed, I keed! But not really.

It's not a bad park, its the company it keeps. One reason I dont go to many games.

You mean you don't like staring at a tarped over Mt Davis during a sold out game.

Why not? They're both southpaws who pitched for the Dodgers. Kershaw's got a lower career ERA, and the same career SO/9 ratio, and he broke out at a younger age. Now I know Koufax is best known for his post 1962 seasons, but Kershaw still has time to put together a few seasons like that. You also have to remember that Koufax threw on a 15 inch mound (some even said 20), while Kershaw throws on a 12 inch mound.
