Still early but this kid looks like the real deal. Phillies lineup is not what it once was but its still a pretty good lineup.

I know its still super early but his stats are pretty nice.

2-0
0.64
19K's in 14 innings and hit 99 last night

Looked impressive. Live arm, good movement. Don't think he was near 99 though. Saw 95 once or twice.

When David Price says Matt Harvey is his favorite up-and-coming pitcher, I pay attention.

I was wondering why both my national treasures Harvey autographs sold for full price last night in COMC.

lol, nice thought! i hear this stuff though about him being good but wheeler being better and then syndergaard being even better than that... i'll believe it when i see it, harvey clearly looks at the top of that group so far.

I don't think anyone has Noah over Wheeler.

Noah has a chance to make a good size jump in the rankings depending on his performance this year. Some are high on him as a potential top 10 prospect next year. Right now he's a tad behind Harvey and Wheeler as I see him more as a good #3.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is as good of a place as any to ask, but what do I do about a Harvey platinum ref auto redemption, and a Harvey Platinum gold ref auto redemption I have. I've never put them in the system and I know that he hasn't signed any of those cards yet. The BV on those cards are probably going up as we speak so can I just ask them for a replacement without doing the whole wait thing?

No, it's not that Syndergaard is better, it's that he's ahead of the development curve versus where Wheeler was with his stuff that early. I like Synder myself but probably not as much as everyone else does.

I've always liked Harvey better than Wheeler, but if Wheeler can develop his slider like Harvey has inside the organization and maintain that big fastball with hopefully cutting down the walks, there's a bright, bright future with those two and a guy like Niese inside the rotation. That's backed up with young live arms getting better every year (Synder, Tapia, Fulmer), very happy with all of that. Now if the positional depth could only catch up....but luckily the Mets should have a bunch to spend in the coming years.

anyone remember when 2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Matt Harvey Auto redemptions were $10 or less delivered?> Just like Jose Fernandez 2011 Redemptions.

The mets were running some auctions the week of the Superbowl and they had a full game worn Matt Harvey home Jersey. I won it for under 400 bucks because the auction ended during the middle of the superbowl. Score for me!

I'm curious about this as well, I have a Ref Auto that I never entered.

I pulled one of these in the first pack I opened in 11 years back in Nov '11. I was new to the way things worked in the hobby and entered the code in. When it came time and not knowing who he was, I went for the replacement, Brent Brach. Yeah, regretting that one a little now.

Edit: To Clarify I have another one that I pulled several months later.

Mostly here on the forum, no offical sites

I hear this about Wheeler generally being at the top but some people just don't make the transition from AA to the majors as well, if harvey keeps this up it will be hard for Wheeler to top.

There is also this guy Chris Schwinden that looks good at times last yr

Yeah, that's when I was just getting into the hobby and watching videos on youtube. Originally got in because I wanted one of his cards, and a David Wright jersey card, haha.

I only ended up buying like three chrome autos, two refractor, of course wish I would have bought more.

FYI Wheeler is at AAA Las Vegas with D'Arnaud right now. Suspect they will be coming up together.

I'm convinced Wheeler is going to be better than Harvey, that said, Harvey is already better than what I thought he was going to be.

In last night post game on SNY various comparisons were made.
One was showing all of nolan ryans stats thru 12 games comparing them to Harvey.
They were startlingly similiar.
Very hopeful about what this kid can do, but having watched the rise and fall of doc gooden, generation k, and seemingly non stop injuries to Pedro and then Johan, I am a little concerned about the pressure that may mount as a result of such comparisons.

Just want him to go out there and keep doing his thing
without feeling like he HAS to be Nolan Ryan, is all.

the other comparison was this (pic from sny.tv)
