I've been reading some posts and people are talking about picking up a hobby box from their local Wal Mart, Target, Costco, etc. Am I missing something? I thought the only place to pick up a hobby box was from a place like BO or a local card shop.

Occasionally they have some older hobby wax. 2008 Bowman or UD Artifacts, etc. It's not too often.

I have seen 2012 Golden Age hobby at Target. But it's also "retail" price which is close to $80. Not going to do that when i can get it here for 50 something. But that's all I've seen around here.

I picked up a box of 2008 Heritage High Numbers for $49 at Wal-Mart a while back... only time I've seen hobby boxes at Wally world with a decent price tag.

My walmart had Signature Stars. I passed on it for 60 a box. My friend said he would take a box got it and he sent me a txt later that day saying he hit big with a photo attached to it of a Bryce Harper on card auto.

One of my favorite breaks ever was a Walmart break ... two boxes of "2008 Topps Update Presents Heritage High Number" for $50 each. Pulled a Carlos Gonzalez black ref #/59 and a bunch of good rookies. And ... each pack contained a 4-year-old stick of bubble gum. :)

They have boxes of crustables, or are they uncrustables. Either way, those things are amazing!

One of my favorite hits ever came out of a 2004 Fleer Ultra Hobby box from Walmart back in 2005. I pulled the card below:

-As i don't shop a lot for wax, and haven't for some time, i never know what 'good' pricing is on those to even consider buying. But both Walmarts near me (and Target) have had hobby boxes on their shelves for some time, all from past years.

My Walmart had 2011 In The Game for $60 last month. I passed it by but I think I should've picked I up after I saw some amazing breaks on here from that same product.

Purchased a box of the same from walmart for 49.99 on a whim, pulled a bunch of rookies including Sandoval and a Duke Snider auto relic #ed to 25. Very pleased.

Don't do it! Haha generally 3 $1 jerseys and my last box had an auto of rich harden...
I did though buy a box of 2008 bowman chrome and pulled a felix hernandez superfractor! Box sat there for half a year before I finally convinced myself to buy it.
