Well there isn't even a legit card shop in Houston, so I can't be real picky

I'd like to hear about the show. Usually attend the summer and winter Tristar shows in Houston and it would be nice to have another one to look forward to.

There's a card shop in north shore off of woodforest called sportscard shak. It's not the greatest but its ok. And I heard there was a nice one in Katy, although this was years ago and don't know if its still there. And I heard theres a nice one in Alvin.

Looked at the flyer again and it seems to read that JSA is actually accepting submissions for BGS. Idk if that's correct or not.

The one in Alvin is owned by a nice guy. He did not have ANY singles out though. I wanted to maybe look for some old 90s inserts for football. He said he had some somewhere in the back, but it did not sound like I would have much luck getting him to get them out.
He sells mainly boxes it appears. Did not have any loose packs.either.

Find the hidden one off of Kirkwood and Westiemer in the back corner of the shopping center. It blows the one in Katy Odyssey away... the guys are nicer off Kirkwood and they have more stuff to look at...games used bats, packs, supplies, singles...much much more. I think its called Houston Sports Connection. And unlike the one in Katy you can gather all the supplies yourself and you don't have to beg to get his attention when you need something hes rambling on ignoring his customers.

+1 = exactly. I think the shop you're talking about is great. Houston Sports Connection. I'm actually kind of proud to call it my LCS. Reputable - Fair - Nice Selection.

To far for me. But if I'm ever out that way, I'll check it out.

I've never been to the Humble show. I would like to hear feedback from anyone that goes. I also like Houston Sports Connection and get over that way when possible. There is also a nice shop in Pearland called H&H Sports. They have a decent selection on boxes/packs/singles and have a great selection of memorabilia.

Drove out to HSC once but they appeared to be closed down. And you guys are spot on with the Odessey owner lol
If BGS is there, I wanted to get the Keenum SPA 1/1 slabbed.

HSC moved down the street a block or 2 to the west. I went to HSC twice. Both times the owner was gone. One of the times, there were 2 young guys in there who carried on a conversation amongst themselves about their rec league basketball game and ignored me for the 20 minutes I was browsing. The other time there was an older guy there (not the owner) who was nice and we chatted but he said he wasn't comfortable negotiating prices without the owner there so i just bought some supplies.
There was a small shop in The Woodlands too, but he just closed a few months ago.

I went to hsc once. The owner was on the phone pretty much the whole time I was there, and he was just cussing like a sailor. I did not feel too comfortable. Have never really been to an lcs that actually had good customer service skills and made me feel welcome.

I just checked out The Old Ballpark in Alvin last week. Eddie was very nice and made me feel welcome. They had a decent selection of wax and a few singles/packs.

There was hardly any prospect stuff available, and what they did have was double or triple going rate.

If you are ever up in the Dallas area, check out Nick's. He is awesome. He runs the shop with his wife both are very friendly.

why do you say that?
Sports Collectibles on Westheimer and Odyssey Comics & Cards on Fry Road in Katy are very good shops to buy cards in Houston area

Are their prices somewhat competitive? My LCS prices their stuff at a ridiculous markup, and I visit DFW at least once a month.
