Drummond is a beast. As a fan I think it's a tough call.. He can very well be better than Dwight Howard if he stays hungry.

I like him, not much hobby potential, but could be a great player.
I haven't seen him play lately, but he doesn't seem to have much of an offensive game outside of dunking. Defensively though, he's been very good.

It depends on his offensive game, and how Piston wants to run play on him. Currently, they have no problem running low post play on Monore, but I don't see anything on Drummond other than pick and roll.

Drummond was the best player on the court tonight.
didn't see the game but saw he shot like 10-11.
out of curiosity, how many were lobs and passes right at the basket for him?
Basically I'm wondering if he showed any kind of a post game with his 10 buckets

i always worry about guys that physically gifted at that young of an age. seems like most of them just really on that and have productive careers but don't put enough work in to become great.

you are high Kyrie was playing tonight
27 points 5 turnovers 9 assists on 7 -15 shooting At home
Vs.
29 Points 10-11 shooting, 11 rebounds, 0 turnovers, hell even shot 9-17 from the strike when it was Beat a Drum. Horrible yes, but he is at 35%? He was solid tonight with the game on the line.
Real question is how do you go -14 on the floor and be the best player on the floor tonight?
Better Question, I'm pretty sure if Kyrie was this good, his team wouldn't blow a 20 point lead to the Resting Pacers on the road and the lose at home to the Pistons.

I didn't watch the second half, but based on the play-by-play, it looks like his points came from hack-o-Drummond. 7 times.....

One more Kyrie Remark..
I said this months ago. Kyrie is gone as soon as his contract is up.
I'm afraid so is Andre Drummond.. Possibly Greg Monroe as well.
Lebron is an outlier because he is from Akron. If he was from the south, or west, no way he would have stayed in Cleveland after the first contract. For the most part, Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavs can't keep superstar talent around after they draft them.
I say all three bolt.

He is like a Derrick Favors/Dwight Howard (prime)/Blake Griffin mix. Hes a future 20 & 10 guy at least! Beast! I think he could lead the NBA in Rebounding for many years!! Future MVP? I don't know, but future All-Star? Yes he will be!

The only thing to this though, the ONLY guy to turn down a second contract from their original team was Shaq. Most guys won't turn down that guaranteed 10 million a year even on a bad team. In Kyrie's case a max deal for 5 years and given his injury history.... We shall see, Kevin Love even took a less than max extension in Minny, wasn't happy about it, but still took and he's a SoCal beach kid

I guarantee detroit keeps both of them. Detroits record may not show it, but there a couple seasons away from being back in the contender spot if they can draft right and get some quality players (unlike an aging corey maggette and worthless villanueva). There rosters incredibly young and full of potential.
Kyrie on the other hand may definetly leave cleveland if they cant get lebron to come back.

I think he'll eventually be better than Howard. Drummund is still really young, and is already an animal.

I think he'll soon be the best center in Basketball (granted, that's not saying a ton).
He could never learn a single offensive move and he would still have the potential to be an elite player as long as he's a great defensive player.
And for the record, Drummond and Irving both aren't leaving at the end of their rookie contracts, because the Pistons and Cavs would match any offer sheet when they both become RFA's.

I think his ceiling is very, very high. Top 10 talent and IMO the best upside from this crop of rookies.

If the Lakers come a knocking, it's a no brainer for either of them.
Sure they might make more by NBA standards, but the neither city can hang with the LA market and endorsements...

Not much hobby potential? The guys cards are already the third highest of his draft class behind Davis and Lillard. Davis can't stay on the floor and got hurt again last night. Drummond has not been fully unleashed. Next year when he is fully unleashed and is on every other highlight throwing down nasty dunks and blocking the snot out of people his cards will increase further.
Everyone please keep spending all your money on Lillard and Davis and I will keep snatching all of Drummond's cards up for half the price.

I don't think you understand, as a restricted free agent (which they would become after their rookie deals end), they can sign any offer sheet from any team that they want to, but if the Pistons offer a 1 year qualifying deal to Drummond, for example, the team has the right to match any offer, so Drummond and Irving aren't going anywhere, even if they want to leave.

I just mean that centers and big men typically don't sell well compared to guards and forwards.

I will agree with that. The fact that people are willing to pony up twice as much for a Lillard and Davis card baffles me. This guy is probably going to be better than both of them. But like I said I won't complain I will gladly keep buying his cards for half the price. He is going to be the next Dwight Howard in my opinion for what it's worth. I am not bashing Davis and Lillard as players I just think people are overpaying for their cards.

Yes, and I can't recall any notable RFA taking the 1 year tender. They'll sign a max deal (well, a max deal for a RFA).
