Toys R US are getting massive amounts this week. They'll be pretty easy to find now.

I went to Toys r us on my way to work. Got there at 5:55, they opened at 6. There were only 4 people waiting at the door. Needed gifts for my nieces so I bought the 4 they let me buy. When I checked out about 1/2 hour later they still had a bunch at the customer service desk.

Yeah whoever said the 1st series would just go up in value should rethink their theory.

They are basically a motorized car with a dead hamster on top.

They cost $10 at the store. People were paying upwards of $50 on ebay a little while back, now they are easy to find. It seems the accessories are harder to find than the pets themselves.

I had bought 3 online from shopko last week...seems like they would release a bunch, then be OOS until the next day...ugh...paid $12 each for them...this week was able to order from Wal-mart at $8 each, so I got the 3 I needed. So I have 3 extra, contemplating returning the SHopko ones, but I would have to mail them in, so after shipping charges, it probably would even out with the price I paid for the Wal-mart ones.

The manufacturer played the rubes brilliantly with these things. Make them appear extremely limited right up until the week of Christmas, getting millions in free publicity and then open the floodgates with millions available and everyone buys them thinking they are going to be hard to find, when in a few weeks you'll be able to walk in pretty much any store and find them.

it's not always the manufacturer. A lot of times stores like Toys R Us will have these in stock but not sell them but once a week.
