Just picked this up on COMC. What do you guys think it would fetch on eBay? Considering taking it down and listing there. The COMC guys are amazingly fast at getting you a card if you use expedited shipping.
The only ones I see on eBay sold are /100 for ~$75-80.
Thanks in advance!

Personally, I'd list it and let it ride. Would think you could get at least your asking price.
Heck chrome autos are going for over $100....they were $10 at some point (I sold mine at $30 :( ).

I think the David price greens, when he blew up initially, sold for 300-500

Total sidebar from the original conversation, but still related in a stretch of a way.
A box of 2009 USA Baseball sat on the shelves of my LCS for over a year - it literally had dust on the wrapping. The shop continually dropped the price trying to sell and each time I stopped in, I wanted to pull the trigger on it.
Finally, the shop owner decided to just rip and flip - and of course - he pulled a Harper Green Auto /2 in the box.
Carry on.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll do that.

If I can get $300 for this, then that will be two successful high end purchases on COMC that I flip on eBay and have a net profit after all fees. So basically I have been able to avoid the 20% fee on $600 worth of cash in the account.
This type of transaction makes selling on COMC even more attractive than it already is.

Really happy for everybody making that kind of money off Harvey...but if there's one Bowman Chrome auto I KNOW will not only not hold its value but decrease dramatically, it's Matt Harvey. I hope no one is buying his cards as an investment.

Last one at $150 on eBay. Does seem a little crazy.
If the kid wins the Cy Young this year, then they could still go up.

And why is that? He is finally living up to expectations...Look at the Dickey train... had one good year and even in his upper 30's someone was dumb enough to sign him.

This is exactly what I do with mine. Invest on COMC then flip to ebay. I have noticed a lag of a day or two sometimes with people not seeing stuff on COMC right away and changing prices. Unfortunately, I have been too greedy a few times where I should have just bought the card and not made an offer lol.

He has had a GREAT 88 innings in the majors and a 3.50 ERA over 245 minor league innings, but 150+ for a base BC auto? Are you buying them Srt?

The bold part isn't necessarily true. David Price won the Cy Young last year and his Chrome RC Autos sell for about $30 (even before his tepid start to this season, they were around that level). Obviously Matt Harvey plays in a larger market and, if he sustains his performance, they'll certainly hold over the $30 mark. However, there's far more downside than upside on Matt Harvey at current price levels.
Nice pickup on the green; hopefully you're able to flip it and do well on it.

For sure... that's why I said they COULD still go up. I am just trying to acquire ones below their CURRENT selling price :)!

Oh man, might be getting out over my skis a bit... I just acquired the other green.
Anyone think there might be some benefit in listing them as a combined sale? Like "OWN THE WHOLE PRINT RUN! OMG!"
Or should I list them separately BIN/BO?
Thanks!

I wouldn't list them at the same time, takes away from buyer interest if they know they can get another readily if the other sells.

Yeah, this was my original thought. But at the same time someone might be fired up to try and get both... really not sure.
Man I hope he pitches a gem tomorrow night on national television. I should have them in my possession by Friday.

I agree and that's especially true if Wheeler comes up in June and pitches close to how Harvey is pitching.

Lots of variables. I just hope his next start is good so I can list this pair of greens at $1500 BIN or BO :)!

I LOVE COMC for investing into "unknown" prospects. I've been buying Gennett and Fontana autos for like $2 a piece on there and have sold about 10 for $6. I've stopped selling and am just buying all I can now.

The problem with your statement here is that Price was not a Rookie last year. I disagree with the thought that a Rookie winning the CY Young, and thus likely the ROY, would not push his prices up higher. The actual CY Young and ROY Awards may not bump his price, but only because they are higher than they are now because of his continued dominance.

Who says most of that isn't priced in already? Also, how often does a rookie actually win the Cy? My main point being that the likelihood of that happening and the risk/reward scenario given current price points, I don't understand how he could be a sound investment.
If you're referring to the "could" statement, of course, anything COULD go up in value, so what's the point in that statement then?

I saw this on COMC.. what did you have to give for it. The Dual Price/Harvey that is or was on there was mine at one point. I shipped to to COMC after a non-paying ebay bidder. I got more on COMC for it but no where near what it is worth now.

You tried to make an argument that even if he wins the Cy that his prices won't necessarily go up and used David Price as an example. What I am saying is that that is a terrible comparison. As you stated how many rookies actually win the the CY? Not many, if any. So how could you say because Price's price didn't go up after winning that Harvey's wouldn't. IF Harvey wins the CY there is no doubt his prices would go up, there is no COULD about that.

So what do you guys think? List them as a lot? Or one then the other?
I can imagine some crazy Harvey or Mets collector might be intrigued by the idea of ownin them both...
