I wonder if an addition of an Ebay Sales takes would cause a sharp increase in attendance at sports cards & collectibles shows all around the country?

Card shows are about the only site left that is not taxed along with tag sales if you make under a certain amount of dollars at the show.

Might be a more viable place to sell your cards.

Also, would this create the opportunity for other online websites to prosper? If we have 10 online selling sites, that make under 1 million dollars a year in revenue, than maybe we can avoid the sales tax that way? There is strength in numbers.

Even a place like Blowout could get busier because of people avoiding sales tax.

Just sayin! Many more than one ways to skin a cat.

Card shows are taxed around here, same as normal commerce. It just depends on if the local authorities want to bother to enforce the law. In some cities, they will send little old ladies out on a Saturday to make sure that you have a city sales tax license. If not, they will sell you one right then and there for $25, plus give you a form so you can send in your 2% or whatever of sales.

In general, laws such as an internet sales tax will favor the larger companies which can afford to hire lawyers to keep up with, comply with (and in most cases, help write) the laws. And they will generally be to the detriment of individuals and smaller companies.
