Hi-would anyone know if this card is a definite fake? Were any logo patches included in the /399 rookie autos from 2007 SP Authentic football?

Thanks in advance.

There was just a thread on this exact card the other day. Maybe you can search and find it. There were some viking head logo patches in the Adrian Peterson /399. I know because I saw one pulled in person.

Ok thanks-I tried to sell this on Ebay but was told there were no Viking head logo patches out of /399 in the set.

From what I was told the yellow stitching in the horns is a giveaway a knockoff jersey was used to make a very good, maybe the best AD SPA fake.

I won your auction for it and still wonder if it's a truly a fake even after getting refunded.

How did you obtain the card?

Hi there-I'm only asking here because I'm wondering if I can ever sell it or if I have to eat it. I think sending it in for grading at BGS is a good way to find out. I'll give that a shot. We had a pleasant Ebay experience regardless of the outcome.

Unfortunately I bought it off Ebay and I don't remember the seller. It was back in 2007.

Its a pretty awesome looking card.. I see nice patches coming from sp authentic on cards numbered out of a million.. I pulled one personally. Is there any evidence of tampering? Was faking patches as big as it is now back in 07?

so sad. those two color letter swatches are awesome as they are. so sad to see them ruined. (One more reason to hold legit two color AP SPAs!!!)

Damn! I almost bought that last one. I will steer clear of SPA APs. I should really know better.

Didn't SP Authentic come out in 2008?

They are all fake. So buy my Contenders instead :)

In reality I'd never touch an AP SPA unless it was a 1 color

At this point should it even factor into the price any more? That is still an AP auto and numbered at that. That is the real value. It is doubtful in most cases that the relics are game used or even touched by the actual players so why should value be lost by the switch. If people quit attaching extra value to swatches, fakes would stop.

When I buy relics of my PC guys I pay according to the card #. I hate patches and won't pay more for them no matter how many colors if any they have. What I am trying to say is that it sucks this card was tampered with, the guy that did it is a loser but why can't this guy if he isn't the one who did it, still sell the card? It didn't become worthless or at least shouldn't have. If I collected AP I would love to have that card either before or after the switch.

You have the 8 right, as in 1998.

Idk about just going 1 color. I think two colors are probably the best "patch-fan" option. I know i would not ever touch a three color or a logo on these though. Scary thing is i was close to getting a couple of these when i was looking for one!

I just meant that I thought SP authentic was released Jan or Feb so the OP couldnt have bought an SPA AP in 2007 since it didn't come out until Jan 2008

He could of just meant he bought it when AP was a rookie in 07
Now he is stuck with a fake patch

You want this one? I was going to use it as a coaster.

While I agree faking patches is @@@@@@ up! but honestly, it wouldn't prevent me from buying a PC item because none of them are game worn anymore anyways
