Just busted a blaster of 2009 Bowman DPP and pulled 2 purple refractors! Is this new? Box states 1 in 4 packs so they're nothing special but just interesting. My box also had no base rookie chromes. All chromes were green or WBC except for the two purple refractors of Darin Gorski and D.J. LeMahieu. Thought you would be interested in the retail purples. At first I thought they were blue refractors but then I saw no serial numbering on the back and started reading the back of the pack. I'll post scans in a bit.

I pretty much keep everything I bust and usually just buy boxes here and there of whatever I'm in the mood for at that time so I don't collect anything specific. Thanks though.

Are these just regular refractors? Are they numbered? First I've heard of purple refractors.

They're not numbered. They look just like refractors except with a purple border. I think they're limited to retail/blasters. My Blaster box says "New!Look for 2 purple refractors inside!"
I also pulled a regular refractor in my box so my guess is purples are rarer than regular refractors because they are not included in hobby boxes. As per the blaster box - Purples are 1:4 blaster packs and Refractors are 1:11 blaster packs.

Thank you for the detailed response. I had no idea they had these exclusive to retail. Your right there should be less of them so I would imagine they would hold a little more value than the hobby refractors.
