Getting Into HOF Value?

I have a Hall of Fame question....

Does that have a big effect on a players rookie card value if voted in later? For instance, if S.Garvey or D.Murphy were to get in some day does their value go up substantially? Or does it just depend on the cards population etc?

Did A. Dawson's rookie card go up when he recently got voted in?

I do a lot of basketball and noticed that when a fringe player is elected to the HOF such as Ralph Sampson there is not really that much spike in value in his cards. Mabey a little once the news first comes out but it will level off.

Baseball actually sees a decent spike compared to basketball. The basketball HOF is not nearly as big of a deal as baseball.

I know when Barry Larkin got in, a lot of his PSA 10 rcs went up quite a bit on Ebay. They have leveled off a little since. But if you can sell right after election you should do really well with high grade RCs.

-Think of it as a bell curve, for baseball at least. You'll see a modest jump, then after a variable amount of time the prices come back down. They may level back off a bit higher than they were before induction, but that in part depends on player, specific cards examined, and a few other things.
