Seriously considering this with my Lebron and Jordan all-star jersey PC stuff. Part of me wants to sell it all and just go for a monster or two. Anybody else go through this at times?

NEVER!!!.........
I don't even want to imagine this :D
I don't sell much, and before this recent sales thread, I haven't sold a card in a looooong time. Since i've been collecting my new chases, which is NBA 50 Greatest, since 2005, i've sold very few cards, just a few hand fulls. But to sell everything and start over again? Never for me. Only getting rid of things I don't need anymore, and focusing on my main set chases, and only for upgrading purposes.

I kick around the idea from time to time. When I first got into collecting, I had a very broad wish list. I'm thinking I should sell 100+ autos and pick up 5-10 I really want.

I did this about 1-2 months ago to buy a card I wanted, sold everything that wasn't apart of my PC but didn't pull the trigger on that 30k+ card. I'm on a semi break from the hobby. Doesn't seem like I'm missing much, but have lots more $$$ for vacations.

I'm starting to do that with my Celtics dynasty PC ever since I saw Heinsohn's were selling for basically $20 each now. Players from that team are selling for more than I think they're worth now compared to other players, so I'm starting to cash out.

The only thing I truly regret selling was the 97 MJ All-Star jersey auto /23. That's something I'll truly never be able to get again, whereas now all of the stuff I had can be re-bought(maybe not some of the MJ stuff....but you get the point). Sure could use the extra cash from a business standpoint.

Curious what did you sell it for? The card I was going to buy is similar to that.....

This year I've done quite a purge and sold most of my stuff. It wasn't to 'reinvest' though, it was for other expenses, so if I do get back into it I'll be kinda starting from scratch.
Can be fun, can be disappointing if you can't get back something you wish you'd kept.
Just bear in mind that 'monster' cards aren't as easy to sell should you need to down the line...

I'm currently considering selling all my current stuff and focusing on 1986 and earlier PSA graded rookies, starting with MJ rookie. I think it would be cool to have a bunch of HOF rookie cards.

You could do a 50 greatest psa graded rookie pc. That could get pricey though!

Picked up an MJ rookie PSA 7 for 625. Most I ever shelled out for a single card.
Needless to say I love it.

Nice pickup. Yep, that's going to be the first one I get. Can't decide if I want the 7 or 8. I just have a feeling 20 years from now the new stuff is going to be worth much less. Every player is going to have 1,000 rookie cards. The old stuff will maintain value

If you still have a pic of this card I'd love to see it. I'm sure you prob. deleted all of them because of the pain :).
I always think about unloading my collection and going after that Durant Exquisite RC, numbered to 35 with the inscription.

2 months ago i sold every single card i had. Got a fence for the backyard, paid some bills, took the family on a vacation, etc.
I have totally started over . I am currently trying to get a graded rc and an auto of everyone who has ever won rookie of the year. I am also doing the select stars auto/jer set as well.

I did one big purge, sold the Lawrence Taylor PC, sold my extra NY Rangers PC items, sold off extra Syracuse stuff too, bailed on Rueben Randle. Thinking of losing some other collections too. I have a Derek Jeter PSA PC going on as well might bail on that.
