I've never completed a set before and decided it's time. I want to do a jersey auto set that's not that expensive. Would like to do a 2011 or a 2012 set so I know a few of them are going to be a alil expensive. So I would like some advice on what set to do. This will be open tell Tuesday night 9 pm est. I will pick a set to do and will send the winner a lil package.

I think its overlooked, but I like platinum patch/autos from 2012. You would be better off with 2011 as it would probably be less expensive (even some mid tier guys in 2012 are moderately priced still). Then again, if money is not a factor for 2012, National Treasures #1, Strata #2, Playbook #3, Black #4.

Do 2011, much better looking Silhouettes than 2012

One of the best looking sets ever IMHO and the most expensive (Cam) is only 90-125 depending on the patch

Do you like booklets? If so do the 2011 playbook patch auto set. It is cheap on all the guys except newton and Kaepernick but that goes with all products. The patches can be really nice and the design is cool too.
If you don't like booklets then go with 2012 finest patch autos. They are very cheap and very nice and cool. But truly I. Think booklets are awesome and would go with my first one!

The problem with both the Strata clear cuts and the Finest is that the top 3-5 rookies aren't included in the base of those sets, just the short printed versions

Where as with my example of 2011 Crown, there is a "base" for every player with it being /299 for most, only a couple of the top players base is /199

The 2011 Gold Standard Patch Auto rookies would be a cool set to complete. Plus, they would probably be a bit cheaper then any 2012 set and easier to obtain them all

Look into doing the topps finest patch autos. I think the print run is like /1500 and is very cheap to build that set. Hell you could even do the /99 version or a little higher numbered set from the /99 and still be very cheap to buy the whole set!

Panini Black is a great set to start with auto wise (I completed mine). Also the NFL Gear Dual Materials autos from National Treasures are a good higher end set if you want to up the ante. Personally, if you want probably the best looking cards of the year, go do the 2012 Prime Signatures Jumbo Patch Auto set numbered to 25. Highest is Luck at around $400.

If you want to keep prices down, try doing a jumbo patch set aka Bowman Sterling box toppers or Certified Freshman Fabric. Non Auto, but still fun.

That is correct, I got my Luck for $175, RG3 for $110 and Wilson for around $100.

I think i would suggest limited for 2011 since Cam Newton should be the highest at $100-$120.

If you want a cheap 2012 but nice set, go with R&S. Luck goes for $135-$150, RG3 is about $100 and Russ Wilson is under $80.
