Today I sold an item and now it looks like the buyer maybe causing a problem.
I had the card listed for $34.99 + shipping. He countered $20 and I said I couldn't go that low and countered $22. He accepted which made me happy, but after winning he said adjust the invoice to free shipping and I will pay right away. I never mentioned free shipping ever and the listing always had $2.99 as the shipping price. If the buyer tries to cause an issue what should I do? Bryce

Have free shipping and take that in mind when you decide on price.

I think I will start doing that, but in my current situation what can the buyer say? It was listed the whole time....

You didn't agree to free shipping. He has to pay it or back out of the deal. I would also consider blocking him.

Exactly I didn't agree to free shipping. He is the one who clicked accept when I countered $22 plus 2.99 shipping. I sent him a message saying I didn't offer free shipping with the item and asked him if he wanted to cancel the deal.

Here's what I'd say:
I gave you my best price for the card, which did not include my stated shipping charges. I'm sorry if you misunderstood my counter, but shipping was not included. If you do not wish to pay shipping, I will need to cancel the transaction since I cannot go any lower on the price we agreed to.

I wrote him something very similar to what you said, but I haven't heard back. He sent me a message this morning so we shall see what happens.

The user is now threatening to leave me negative feedback if I don't lower the shipping rate. Can he do this? What can I do protect myself? I have been nice and offered to lower shipping to the exact rate.

Ebay will take the neg away if he doesn't pay, IIRC.

I'm not sure where this comes from. Some users here just look for trouble. Just because you don't like my opinions doesn't mean you need to troll me. I have never blamed you for anything transaction wise.
