I just picked up a complete 2006-07 Exquisite set (1-84)... has all 42 base and 42 Rookie auto's.. patches and non patches.
My Question is this.. how would you sell this? As a set? Or Break the set and sell it as a large auction run?
My buddies all think I should break it.. but how many complete exquisite sets are out there? lol. What would you do?

I would send it to that guy who takes consignments and gets crazy prices.
Have him divide it up into 2 auctions, Rookie set and veterans.
It's just not worth it anymore to break up sets and having to deal with all the BS, chargebacks.

You will get more money breaking it up but you also must factor in the time it will take you to list them. With all due respect, 06-07 is the least coveted rookie class and base set design of all releases so temper your expectations in regards to what you will make by selling. Good luck with your sales either way.

still has rondo... aldridge.. and a few others. I wasn't expecting 03-04 numbers haha. What do you think is a "fair market" on it?

I assume you mean probstein? I have an 18000 feedback account with over 300k in inventory listed.. I'm not worried about that lol.. just curious if it people think it would sell more as an auction split or a whole set BIN listing.

I think that you have a good dilemna because it does not seem like you can go wrong no matter which direction that you choose.
My first inclination would be to say that the set has to stay together, but set collecting seems to be a dead breed (far beyond a dying breed).

Time it takes to list? 84 cards shouldn't take more than a couple hours haha.
I think put up a huge BIN/BO as a set, if you don't get a number you think is good, split up. the auto's and sell the base set as a set, and sell the autos separate.

Jordan alone should get $100+ on the base card.. if I were to break it up.. wouldn't it be smarter to break up everything?

This is my breakdown.
Start with the 1-84 set at a high BIN/BO. Don't get what you want.
Break up the Auto's and sell by themselves. Keep the set in a BIN/BO. Still not a bite you like, break that up. Yes Jordan sells very well, and that factors into the set price, but the Pau's and Jack's of the world don't. That's why I'd try to sell that as a set, rather than sell a few superstars and some scrubs for next to nothing.

I'm not familiar with basketball much, I'd think around $50 would be a good number to get.
Just checked eBay, looks like some sold in the $30, but I still think $50 is possible.

I think you should scan them up so we can drool over them regardless of what you do.

I would sell it as a set. Mainly because there are probably no other sets like it for sale on eBay (haven't checked). There are still a lot of set collectors and it would be a shame to see a nice exquisite set get pieced off.

some of those cards are very hard to come by many commons are locked up in sets i have over 150 commons at this point and with such a low print run some could be driven up very high by set collectors, ill watch for a few more every month like i always do :)!

0607 exquisite is like the crappiest year of exquisite. Rookie class torn them apart. Next to best is.

0607 cards just wont sell. Imo.
Sell them as a singles. More player collector will jump on a certain card and not sets.
Lets see a pic of the badboy now!!!
