Hate to do this and have to alert other seller to block this buyer: jheathpt

I have been trading and collecting lots of highend cards and become very good friends with some of yours during the last two years. I have never done this before but this time is really the worst experience ever. So after you read the story below and think the buyer deserve his name on your blacklist, just do it. If not, just take it as a joke and hope it makes your day.

jheathpt bought my 12/13 Preferred Silhouette Anthony Davis Jersey auto #/99 in an auction earlier this month. Me and my friend busted it and put it directly in to a one-touch protector. As some of you may know that, this year's preferred has some serious packing problem. All the silhouette cards have some condition issue here or there, especially on the edges and corners. Me and my friend busted about 15 cases and there is no one silhouette card can be graded higher than 9 IMO. So instead of claiming the card condition on my listing, I provided detail scans for buyer to check up. I sold around 40 silhouettes card on the same day and got no problem from any buyer except him.

Here is the link for my auction: 2012 13 Panini Preferred Silhouettes Jersey RC Rookie Auto Anthony Davis 16 99 | eBay (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5337015507&customid=&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F2012-13-Panini-Preferred-Silhouettes-Jersey-RC-Rookie-Auto-Anthony-Davis-16-99-/261213502889)

This buyer didn't contact me with any question about the card condition, made the bid and won the auction. I shipped this card right after I got the payment. It arrived on time and the problem comes. He opened a case on eBay claiming that the card is not as described. He said the card is seriously damaged and not as described since he said I claimed it a NM-MINT condition in the listing which I didn't. At first, I thought maybe he is not familiar with this card condition issue from preferred so I explained to him. He refused to admit that so I just offered him to a full refund if he can send the card back. You know what? I was so naive. Without giving me any reply for two days, he waited another auction with a seriously damaged piece of the same card to end and took it as a example to me to ask for $50 dollar partial refund. Threaten me to leave me negative feedback if I refuse his request. I gave it a last try that if he agreed to send it back, I can cover the return shipping cost as well. In that way, I will lost around $30 on the 2 way shipping and also the ebay fee since clearly he won't agree to cancel the case even I gave him the full refund. He never replied then, claiming that he sent the card out and leave me a bad feedback.

The truth behind all his lies, IMO, is that he made this unreasonable request and hope I would back down so he can make a profit out of it. After he cannot gain anything out of it, he decides to ruin other's reputation simply because he was not satisfied. He said to me at last, "The customer is always right". For a lousy buyer like him, he deserves a lifetime blacklist.

Thanks for your time to read this and hope you all doing well with your collection. Appreciate it.

I received his return mail today. When I get it from the postman, I felt strange because I send the card out with a magnetic protector and his return mail is too thin for that. I opened it with accompany of my friend and got nothing inside there. WOW. Probably I can never get my card back since it shows me receiving this mail and even I have to give him refund. FML!!!! You guys should be fully awared this time. Block him without a hesitation.

Hey man...shizt happens. Just forget about it and keep the money. 1 neg is not going to ruin 700+ positive. Ebay is filled with scumbbags and ebay itself is a joke in terms of seller protection. Thanks for the warning of this guy!

If the buyer sent you eBay messages in which he said he'll leave you negative feedback unless you do A, B or C, that is called feedback extortion and eBay will remove those negs for you. Just contact them and show them the message(s).

However, your scan is not "high detail". Only the front is scanned and it is blurry/out of focus. If flaws do exist, that scan may not show them at all. And there is nothing in the listing that mentions any flaws. You assumed the buyer knew about condition issues on these cards. You might be better off in the future by scanning without the magnetic holder and/or describing the condition issues in the listing detail.

Incidentally, I've done business with this buyer and not had any problems. He's not on my blocked list.

Using the USPS to knowingly commit fraud to another party is mail fraud. It is a federal offense and a felony. eBay takes it seriously. If the buyer did this to you, you can mention that you will be reporting the offense unless they return the real card. You can also report it to eBay. They take these things seriously. Even though it isn't possible for you to prove it, if a buyer has multiple reports on their account, eBay will take action of some sort.
