Looks like this is the Finals matchup! Definitely, going to be a great series. As much as I'd like to see the Heat win, I think the Spurs take the series in 6. What do you think? Difference maker this series?

No way the NBA allows the Spurs to sweep another Finals with LeFlop on the other team !

I'm sure Chris Anderson will do something stupid and try to start a fight with a Spurs player. His thuggish style of play is dangerous to any player on any team.

Heat in 4. Lebron puts up 40+ each game, and cements himself as the greatest of all time.
No, Heat in six. I do still think Lebron will dominate, though. Not 40+-domination, but he'll play well.

LeBron will dominate know matter what. He just needs the help from Wade, Bosh, etc.. If he gets that from the team, then they should be able to win, but we just have to wait and see. When do The Finals start?

That's what I was saying! If Wade doesn't show up, and get his confidence, then the Heat don't have that good of a chance. If and Bosh are going to have to step it up if they want to get this ring

if you know basketball, its a game of matchups. the pacers do not favor miami's game, the spurs have no one like hibbert in the paint. not saying its going to be easy, but the heat match up better to the spurs then they do the pacers.

Spurs in 6 (could see it being shorter series)
Spurs have much more depth
Spurs have much better coaching
Spurs have enough size to give problems in the paint
Spurs play great help defense and are a focused bunch who don't make mental errors
Spurs have huge edge at PG
Heat have LBJ, which is huge no doubt but its a team game.
Duncan and Pop retire after series.
This is going to be fun.

if youre saying that duncan and splitter have the same presence in the paint as hibbert and west, then yeah, the heat are in trouble.... duncan is a great player, but he wont have the same effect on offense and defense as hibbert had.

its kind of a doubled edge sword, they are both 2 different post players. hibbert is more power while duncan is more finesse, miami will be able to guard duncan alot easier then guarding hibbert. duncan may get 20 and 10, but he will have to work for it vs hibbert getting easy layups/dunks or hooks over much smaller/weaker players. duncan does not have near the strength as hibbet.

Just about to say this. Kawhi and Splitter have been having great seasons. The Thunder hurt themselves by trading Harden. When he left, there was almost no way for them to win the Finals.

If Wade and/or Bosh turn up consistently for the series and Allen has his eye in then the Heat will be hard to stop (assuming Lebron keeps doing his thing). Having said that, the Spurs are a damn good team so I think this is going to be a very tight series.

i think it safe to assume any reasonable person would say miami would win if both teams are clicking on all cylinders. thats the beauty of sports, thats not always the case. im really excited for this series, and the spurs are a team that if they beat miami, i wouldnt be to upset. ive always liked duncan and pop.

Shut up already. What's your escape plan when this doesn't happen, apart from the "I abandoned that"?
(1) they didn't shoot 40 free throws and still won it, but it was not the important game I was refering to?
(2) the series went to 7 games, but it's all about getting more money from the Finals?
(3) the Spurs win the series, LeBron choked again?
Which one will it be this time?

Spurs take it in 6
With Duncan and Splitter in the middle.
4 guys that can shoot the 3 ball well
A much better PG
and a lot more depth than heat, Spurs have basically a whole bench of players that can start in many teams.
add that to the way the Heat are playing recently I would have to give Spurs the edge.

The way the Heat roster was built, Spoelstra cannot really rely on the solid plays of second year players. He can't even rely on 2 of his 3 superstars!
Parker or LeBron MVP, both would make me happy :)!

Are some of these comments about a Heat sweep serious? The Spurs are a great team. They are very well coached, make amazing adjustments and have some very favorable matchups. Indy and to a lesser extent, the beat up Bulls showed Miami is not as unstoppable as everyone though. This Spurs team has the edge in size, experience, coaching and are well rested. This should be a great series, hopefully Spurs in 6.
Hibbert looked great against the Heat but are people forgetting Tim Duncan is a major weapon in the post? Hibbert has a very crude offensive game, nothing compared to TD. Who on the Heat is guarding him?

I think that Bosh being pedestrian was more a product of the Pacers front court than Bosh not being good. Having to pound with West and Hibbert would kick anyone's ass.
Duncan is a better player than Hibbert/West, but not nearly as physical. I don't see him being as much of a problem for Bosh due to that fact.

Your post didn't bother me at all, because you have no idea what you are talking about if you think this forum is loaded with "LeBron fan boys".
First off, just because someone thinks they Heat will win, doesn't make them a "LeBron fan boy". And the term "fan boy", really?
Secondly, you will learn quickly that LeBron garners more dislike in this forum than most other players. My point is that you haven't been around long enough to see that.

That is a true statement. If the Heat play like they did in the losses to the Pacers, the Spurs are going to beat them going away. In fact, if they play like they did in the close wins, they will lose. The Spurs aren't going to lose close games very often. Bosh and/or Wade need to show up.
I want to see them play that aggressive ball like they did last night... only for every game. They were driving and crashing the boards with reckless abandon. If that Heat team shows up, they are unstoppable. But it seems that Heat team only shows up when they sense urgency. They can't wait until the series is at a deciding game to do that because the Spurs are way too experienced and savvy to make the mistakes Indiana did last night (turnovers and fouls).

The Spurs are going to be a tough matchup. I was pulling for this final. I personally think the Spurs pose more of a threat than the pacers did for Miami. Sure the pacers had a huge size advantage and may be more physical than San Antonio but if you watch the heat, you notice they thive on mistakes. They are great (when focused and playing hard) at taking away what their opponent likes to do. Looking at the bulls and pacers series, they are most effective when they are stifling on defense and letting the offense flow off opponents mistakes.
Last night was a prime example.
That said, the Spurs really don't make mistakes and have so many weapons and tendencies that it will be really though for Miami to take any one thing away. I doubt Miami comes out as flat as they did against Indy but the spurs are a much better team.
This should be an awesome one. Spurs in 6. Or heat in 7? Or spurs in 5...who knows. Ill be rooting for spurs hard though. I just love their bran if basketball. Lebron will have plenty more chances, I would love to are Duncan snag one more.

alot of who wins the finals is who is in rhythm at the time...
like a hitter that is hot or in a slump..

A.) Does Tim Duncan retire?
B.) Is Tim Duncan top 5?
Interesting questions!
I was thinking that he would retire on the high of another ring, but then again, he is one of the most selfless players ever to play the game, so it wouldn't surprise me if he stays on until it suits the Spurs' development. Maybe help then find and develop another big first??
As far as rankings, I think you will never get people to concede that he is in the top 5. People can't even accept that he has been one of the best pleyers in the league THIS SEASON, despite the fact that he is recording better per minute stats that any other time in his career!
No doubt in my mind about top 10, with our without the 5th ring, but not convinced on top 5

Duncan won't surpass:
Michael Jordan
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Bill Russell
Wilt Chamberlain
With another ring he could jump over:
Kobe Bryant
Magic Johnson
Hakeem Olajuwon
I already rank Duncan ahead of:
Oscar Robertson
Larry Bird
Elgin Baylor
Jerry West
They gotta beat Miami first though. It will be tough. I am picking San Antonio in seven. Yeah I'm crazy, picking a road team in game 7 of the Finals.

It's interesting comparing Kobe and Duncan. Both are all-time great players of the last 15 years. Although you could possibly rank Duncan on par or higher than Kobe with another ring this year, I think he won't be looked at that way because his game isn't as "sexy". Style sells a lot in this league and Duncan just doesn't have the highlight reel Kobe has. Not to say style is ALL that matters, but I believe it does have an impact

Pretty evenly called game. Only questionable call was Duncan's first. He got a second that was legit no hd to sit early. That's when Miami had their best run. If the Spurs can avoid foul trouble on Leonard and Duncan they have a good chance. Wade has looked much more interested and energetic then he did during some games in the Pacer series. Bosh still settling for outside shots. Danny Green hit some big threes for San Antonio.

Miami doing NOTHING right.
They are letting this one get away.. Pretty damn sad. James Not shooting at all. Not aggressive. Nothing.

Both teams turning up a notch...Can SA keep up??
Spurs go up 1-0 and win by 4. Wade, Bosh, and the Heat team have really stepped there game up this series. Don't think it's gonna help tonight though. Such a good game!

Home Court... Check. LBJ Triple Double....Check. Miami still not sealing the deal?
It's just the Spurs year. Honestly, this might be a sweep...

The crazy thing is the Spurs were doing this a decade a go with the same core guys.

The frustrating thing is Lebron is one of the most unstoppable players in the NBA offensively. I know he's a good passer, but I don't get why he's not driving. You'd think he'd at least get to the line, but instead he seems gunshy

Manu with a horrible shot leads to easy points for Ray :/
And a triple double looks great on paper, but the Heat need Lebron to score!

That awful sequence by the Spurs really put the Heat back in the game.

One of the few things I don't like about LeBron's game is how he complains about EVERY foul that gets called when he's in the vicinity.
