eBay question. Why would someone only pay gift?

Quick question. I'm in the process of selling my kobe silhoette on ebay. I got an offer for a Paypal direct transaction which I responded I would accept. However, the guy is insisting on paying gift even though I am asking for goods. Does he have something to gain I am unaware of? He has zero feedback. Thanks

take the gift and run if he pays you don't have to worry about him trying to ask for a refund he is the one taking the chance here not you

Not true if he pays by CC he can open a chargeback within 60 days, gift or not. Ask him why he insists on gift payment vs goods
