You should never compare retail to hobby.

well hobby obviously for superfractors, but cannt go wrong either way IMO.

It really depends on how much your willing to spend, but if that is not a factor then hobby boxes all the way.

well I was thinking of getting one retail and then a box of 2011 ud sweet spot. or should I just get the chrome hobby box and call it good?

Not a fan of Sweet Spot. I'd go Hobby for sure. What exactly are you looking for when busting the box? Autos? Colors? You need to give us more info so we can help you.

It's always better to get two boxes than it is to get one. In that vein I would go for the retail. You're only missing out on a guaranteed auto (which will be crappy in all but a few cases) and a miniscule chance at a superfractor. The retail will have a similar amount of color, plus allow you to buy another box.

No brainer in my opinion, definitely the retail.

not quite sure what I want. I haven't collected since I was a kid and so much has changed. I know I want to bust some college stuff someday. I have a bought a couple retail boxes of contenders and I have had enough of that stuff. would like to get some trade bait since nobody wants stuff that I have. I have read a lot that everybody is into chrome but then they say don't pay more then a 100 a box which is impossible for that to happen unless I want 2013 stuff which I don't.

thanks for the help I appreciate it!

Buy singles.....

I wanna get my ass handed to me on a couple of boxes before I start buying singles. :)

You have to ask yourself, what "hits" are you looking for? I would never buy boxes unless I want to work on building the set. I know a lot people break a ton of boxes and ignore the base, if that is the plan - buy singles. If you like the chrome and sweet spot base, go for retail.
If you are looking for college uni boxes for 2011, I would do the upper deck.

I have a recommendation: if you don't know the difference between hobby and retail, you can send your money right over to me and I'll send you every single common card I have. SMH

i know the differance between hobby and retail. i have been reading that chrome retail has actually been good and just wanted to get everybodys opinion in this and to see if maybe i should get 2 boxes or just 1.

Why not buy singles instead of dropping that kind of dime on a box? You can probably get a lot more out of your money.

Buy the hobby box man. One reason is a the autograph, and its gonna have better inserts, refractors, parallels or game used jersey/ patches. The Retail box will get you a very rare relic hit, or maybe a few numbered cards. Im with the guy who said save for two boxes, and maybe even make it 3. The more you get, the better chance you will have at hitting one of the better players autograph or game used patch.

Yea I dig chrome... like all the colored refractors, esp. '12 TC... really loved the camo being a military guy.

Definitely go with hobby. If you decide on 2011, I'd be interested in any Newton #'ed refractors/autos you pull. Good Luck on your decision.
