Hey guys... I'm sort of new to selling cards and I was wondering which do you prefer for selling your cards and why?

It really depends on what you are selling.
Ebay---- Higher end, or recent releases
COMC-- Low end, Inserts, stars( stuff you usually cant get rid of)
Both have there positives, although Ebay is starting to have less and less.

Depends on the value of the card and how many cards you plan on selling. For instance, if I know that a card is a sure sale and it's really hot at the moment I'll most likely sell it on ebay. I don't sell cards on ebay if they only get a dollar or two, those ones go on COMC. I still put some good cards on COMC but the thing is that COMC takes 20% of your sale, ebay takes 10%. But with ebay you have the hassle of going out and shipping the cards, then if you have a problem with the customer and you didn't send the package with DC you are most likely going to get screwed. With COMC you don't have to deal with all that, once the user takes the card off your inventory it's not your problem. The only problem with COMC is sometimes it can get very slow because there are way more people on Ebay than COMC. And you may never move a card on there even if it is good because the person who would buy it might not even know about COMC, but I really like the website and it's one of my favorites. I recommend it to everyone who deals with cards.

Another nice thing about COMC is that you can leave it listed on the site for a year and you're only paying 12 cents (1 cent per month) for storage. So go ahead and ask 150% of BV for that great card you pulled. It may never sell but what are you really risking?

This is just a question not a 1st strike nuke attack:D I have been thinking about joining the COMC thing.
Do I have this right?
Example:
Send in 500 cards to sell for, say $1.00 each. Use 1 month time frame.
$75.00 + $3.00 + $10.70 shipping + 20% + $3.00 cash out + $9.24 PP deposit fees. Total cost: $200.94
I make $500.00 - After all fees I recieve $299.06.
Put 500 cards in my Ebay store 30 days $15.00 listing + 0.12 FVF x 500= $60.00 + $210.00 PP fees on 500 sales, (1.00+3.00S/H $4.00) + $1.58 Shipping $790.00. Total cost $1075.00
I make $2000.00 - After fees $925.00. So I have to figure if it is worth $625.94 to list and mail 500 cards myself.
Am I looking at this right?

You are looking at this correctly. The key to COMC is you will get rid of stuff that you will not be able to get rid of on Ebay due to s/h. For example, I am currently sorting my 09 BDP breaks. Prospect refractors(xfractors and such), WBC Refractors, and other low end stuff is going to COMC. Blues, oranges, reds and other higher end stuff goes on Ebay.
I look at COMC as a great way to trade up. For example, today I sold a 07 SP Authentic Lorenzo Booker and an 01 SP Jerry Porter rc. These two cards usually would not sell on ebay, but they did on COMC. As I build up proceeds, I buy better stuff ( Ive picked up 3 SC Frave Rcs, couple of Jason Heyward Elie Rcs, and so one).
Thats just my two cents, but overall in my opinion its a GREAT site.
