So I get home today, and see a little yellow envelope from Duryea, PA in the mailbox.

I tear it open to find this:

That being said, I found only that. No letter, no nothing. I check my redemptions online, all still say pending that should.

Is the only way to reach someone is to actually call the (800)-489-9149 number on Monday, or is there an email address I can ask WTF this is doing in my mailbox for?

I still haven't figured out how they figure out a book value for a card that's not in any book.

People, please. This has nothing to do with topps not being able to get sigs from players, it has to do with topps over their heads in having to print up all these different cards. This cost topps too much money. It is MUCH easier and more cost effective for topps to print up one single set of cards, slap sticker autographs on them of players they already had, and then just number then as high or low as possible. Need a rare card, then take a base card and number it low..instant value.

Why are we letting topps off the hook on this?

Correct me if I'm wrong but Topps has been recently cleaning house on their customer service side.

These produced cards are a total slap in the face. If you can't produce a card you promised and you switch it out with one of these it's bait and switch

I'm sure somewhere, someone is gathering up stuff to file a class action suit against Topps for their redemptions

Because it's easier to just complain about it then actually file a lawsuit.

As I've said on other similar threads before, if you don't want to deal with redemptions, STOP BUYING PRODUCTS WITH REDEMPTIONS IN THEM!

The only way to really get Topps attention is to hit them in the wallet...

That's a good question for that worthless idiot Chris Olds. Topps is always quick to throw Beckett under the bus by justifying their crap replacements by saying they use Beckett as a guide. I'd ask him, but he blocked me long ago and you'll never get him to badmouth Topps.

Also, is anyone else bothered by the fact that Topps (presumably) pays Beckett to provide values for cards? Many of the cards are so rare that Beckett won't price them in the guide, yet they're willing to give Topps a value with no way for the customer to validate that value. Seems like a HUGE conflict of interest that the markets leading price guide is (presumably) paid by the only licensed card manufacturer to price cards for the purpose of redemption replacements.

Here's how I see that convo happening:

Topps to Beckett: How much is this card worth, we need to replace it.
Beckett: It's too rare to price
Topps: STFU and give me a price
Beckett: $500
Topps: That's too much
Beckett: No, it's right
Topps: Maybe we'll just stop paying you for this service and you'll go under since only the most jaded collectors are willing to pay for the garbage you pump out and your pathetic readership can no longer keep you afloat
Beckett: .............$200
Topps: Thank you. Now how much is the Doc Gooden sticker auto worth that we created with the sole purpose of screwing collectors on redemption replacements?
Beckett: $20
Topps: Do I really need to AGAIN explain to you how small your readership is and why we created these new cards?
Beckett: $200
Topps: Thanks. REPLACEMENT APPROVED!

They did something similar is basketball. They couldn't get anything out, got lazy and set out Spudd Webb autos numbered to like 599 or something.

I think my point was lost. I know these cards were produced for replacements on redemptions. My problem is, I didn't receive any info on WHAT it was supposed to replace. Just the card. No letter, no email, no skywriting, nothing.

You'll have to call, and the CS number that you listed is the only one I know of

Called in this morning to Topps.

38 Minutes on hold...sucks but I'll take it.

They told me that all of my redemptions are still pending, and that they can't figure out why I received that card. The only cards I had listed as pending at the time were:

2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect Refractor Parallel James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect Refractor Parallel James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect Refractor Parallel James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect Blue Refractor James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect Gold Refractor James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Autographed Prospect Purple Refractor James Paxton Pending
2012 Bowman Chrome Bowman Black Autograph of James Paxton Pending

That being said, she said none of those were issued a replacement. The part I found interesting is that she stated the "Uncirculated Replacements" were made to combat the 2011 and older redemptions that they can't fulfil. I don't know how accurate that statement was, but that's what she said.

She told me to consider it a bonus, and not to return it. She said most likely it was sent out as an error.

I'm even more confused now than I was before.
