Gave these a shot against my better judgment. At least I came away with an extra hit that will make it less painful. Haven't seen many high quality sketches come out of this product so that was my main worry.

Anyhow, need some assistance on the artist of the Daredevil sketch.

Hit the comic panel:

The holograms tend to be the 'big' hits as most sell for the box price, if not more...

and got 2 autos...

Still, as always, a fun break. Likely won't be picking up any more unless they get crazy good on pricing. Just not a product I like much due to lack of sketches. Kinda sad, to me anyway, when the hits that pull money are only doing so because they're so watered down across the product. I mean, you'd probably have to break like 15 cases just to complete a set of the holograms, I think.

thanks for the ID on the Daredevil sketch. I looked through pages of artist signatures on the Rittenhouse site. If he did one of their sets, I sure didn't see it.

Nice hit on the panel. I think they fell like 1/case.

I though Beginnings was a really cool set and was pretty pleased with my MB1 pulls. The comic writer autos really don't do anything for me though, and the sketch artist list deteriorated significantly for MB2 and MB3 so it killed the product for me. I still want to complete my mini master set though... need an MB3 set. I may end up buying a couple boxes when the price drops, or just picking up a mini-master set for about the price of a single box...

With all the shenanigans Upperdeck has been pulling on the artists is it a wonder that the artist roster is getting worse.

No it isn't, but it still sucks for collectors. Upperdeck puts together a decent set, but has a crappy artist list. Rittenhouse puts together a weak set, but has a decent artist list (although deteriorating). I think everybody will win if Cryptozoic gets the license.

Haha.

Crypto is cash poor, their words. Ask around.

that's a lot of begging, plus as i said before it looks like they are robbing peter to pay paul.

It's why they started the Certified Distributor program, or whatever it's called. Force distributors to purchase multiple cases of releases that won't do as well as others in order to improve cash flow.

Sure, they'll say that's not what it's for but, when it comes time for the good stuff like BBT and you didn't order 200 cases of some other low demand product, suddenly your allotment is cut in half.

I didn't say they WOULD get it. I think somebody new would reinvigorate the Marvel trading card sets though. Regardless, Crytpo has been up front that they are going after the license.

Cryptozoic buys many mediocre licenses. Revenge? Vampire Diaries? Psych? Archer? Alphas? The Guild? Downton Abby? Some of these are shows that I enjoy (okay, really just Archer but I've heard Alpha's was very good) but they are all extremely risky as trading card sets, in my opinion. Unless a show is a smash hit AND has the 'geek factor' that drives the most popular trading card sets, I can't understand why Cryptozoic keeps going after these licenses so early on, before the shows really have an established fan base. Not going to get lucky every time like they did with WD. On the other hand, they managed to get The Hobbit, which will probably be very successful for them in the long run.

As long as they can pay their guys, whatever.
