Last weekend I took advantage of BO's non-sports sale and ordered a box of BBT. So the box came in today, and I opened it tonight.

I check the packs, and feel only a single wardrobe card, so I know that means I didn't get an auto wardrobe, and I didn't get a dual wardrobe or an extra wardrobe. BUMMER! Halfway through the box, and I hit the auto... the worst one you can get, Captain Sweatpants. ARGH!!!

I open the rest of the packs, keeping the wardrobe for last, and get nothing. I'm cursing my luck, and just hoping for a Penny wardrobe to at least feel halfway decent about the box. I open the pack, and see Sheldon on the back of the card. DARN! No Penny, and not even the Sheldon I need for my set...

Then I turn the card over...

and what do I see staring back at me???

If this card was made by any other company the patch would be upside down and offcenter. Amazing card!

Just to clarify, you've got the wrong Green Lantern. The original, Golden Age Green Lantern's weakness was wood, however, the one pictured on the shirt is the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. His weakness was the color yellow.

Although, I suspect that, most human super-heroes could be killed by a well-placed pencil to the jugular.

Nice card!

Thanks for the comments everyone! It was an amazing feeling pulling it, going from being down from getting such a bad autograph, then seeing the back of the wardrobe card and not feeling much better, to turning it over and getting a huge surprise!

Sorry if it wasn't clear, but I was trying to reference the BBT episode where Raj is theorizing that he could take out both the original and silver age Green Lanterns with a number 2 pencil. Since the pencil is made out of wood, and yellow on the outside.

For those BO members who live outside the U.S., I'll add a pic to this thread. I always forget that some members can't see my pictures for some reason.

I think it would be. There are people who build sets of these with the best patches they can find. I did very well with the cases I broke because I did get quite a bit of very nice patches/variants. Even ones with just more stitching or something commonly went for $10 to $25 more than just a one color swatch.

That card is the best one you can possibly get of that particular wardrobe card. To the people building wardrobe sets, that's a key card. I'd $500 BIN/BO that thing and wouldn't be surprised in the least if it pulled $250 to $300. JMHO

Great pull!

Too bad you didnt pull this when the set was just released. You could have easily gotten $1000+ for it. Right now, $300-$500.

With a patch that unique, I don't think the timing would matter.

That's an AWESOME card!

agreed

this piece is possibly the nicest in the set. many people building the set could still use this as an upgrade

It's a great variant, but I do not believe it's a $300 card.

I guess I'll have to go back and re-watch my DVDs. I don't remember that little exchange. Darn. So taxing, re-watching all these episodes... :p

Thanks for the comments everyone. Definitely a cool hit, and probably one of the best cards I've hit this year. It's unexpected hits like this that make opening non-sports so much fun!
