Hey guys I just got into buying vintage only have a few cards.I buy from a older guy with a small shop I know. So,until I can compare it to the same card he had for sale I thought Id get opinions from you guys with experience.

Bought it off ebay and I was feeling good about it for $28 until I seen one negative feeback with a guy saying he got sold a fake card.So now Im just wondering if I got took.Heres a few pictures tell me what you think.

It has decent corners with some slight dings. On the back is a couple impressions small marks so its not perfect.Had to take pictures with a cell phone Im away from home and couldn't scan. Thanks for the help.

Hard to tell from the scans. You can probably tell if it's real or not by comparing the card stock (thickness/texture/etc) to a real card from the same set. Ideally another Maris, but any common would probably help.

I forgot to mention I have some 1959 commons. It feels pretty much the same as those. Not really thick you can bend them easier than say modern cards. The commons I have arent anything special just some $3 cards from.a antique store.

I compared smell with 3 other 1959's and only way I can explain is the Maris smells about the same except for maybe a hint sweeter is how I would explained it.

The main thing I notice is this.On the back where it says ©T.C.G. Printed in the USA.On the 3 others I have its about the same distance between that and where the statistic box starts. On the Maris its closer to the stat box.Would this be a red flag?

Size seems to be consistent with the others

it looks real as best we can see by the scans. Its not a card that I am aware of that is often faked, especailly raw and not mint

I don't think you got taken for $28. I think it's real from the scans shown. Most, but not all times, fraudsters aren't going to pull a scam on a lower conditioned card. It's the nrmt-mt and above, high end, that get scammed because of value.

I'd vote "real" as well. Looks good and as someone said above not many people would counterfeit a card that might sell for $40 on a good day. Nice pickup, wished I had seen it, I would have made you pay more!
