Some of my Father In Laws coins

Little back story-
My father in law will be 81 on Sunday and is a great guy.
He started collecting coins when he was 8 or 9 when he found an old Roman Coin while playing football with his friends.

A few years ago he sold all his scrap silver coins, got about $7100 (Before the huge silver spike a few years ago)

He was going though some of them 1 day and I grabbed a handful to scan.

I really wish he would let me slap the Indian Head and the 2 double struck pennies but he wont. Maybe if I could find an onsite like they have at the National but I'm not that into the hobby to know where to go.

Short story on the 55DS. Back in the late 60's or early 70's he had come back into contact with an old friend. The friend and his wife joined my FIL and his wife for dinner. MY FIL told him about his coin collecting and his friend said he had a coffee can full of coins if he wanted to look through.

At the time he was searching for the 09 VDB minsted in San Fran. So the guy brought over the coins. My FIL went through them all and he found the 55DS.

He told the guy about it and what it was worth and that he would buy it from him. His friend told him to keep it for going through and rolling all the coins.
