I sold this card, 2013 Topps UFC Knockout Anderson Silva Autograph Auto 75 | eBay (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5335829740&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F190876411045%3FssPageName%3DSTRK%3AMESOX%3AIT%26_trksid%3Dp3984.m1587.l2649) on eBay. The buyer is located in Germany. He received the card yesterday, 8/28. Today, he apparently opened a case saying the card was "not as described." However, he opened the case on ebay.de. I cannot read, speak, or understand German. How do I respond to him? I tried using Google Translate and it appears he had problems at the Custom's office, but I am not quite sure. I already sent him a message, via U.S. ebay, and told him if he wants a refund to send the card back to me.
Has anyone else experienced this before from an International buyer?
Thanks for your time.

Him bitching about fees and taxes from customs is by no means a reason for a return. You might want to talk to Ebay about that. He has to pay his bills, taxes, fees like every other overseas buyer.

Can't you just switch it to .com?
Like when you search completed sales, and enter .ch or .fr, it changes everything to that language.
Wouldn't it be true in reverse if you did .com?

Yeah, switching from .de to .com just reverts back to .de. While using Google Translate, I believe this what he entered for "More information":
"Artikel wurde falsch Beschrieben, sodass er jetzt beim Zoll ist. Annahme ist verweigert der Artikel geht zurück."
which translates to, ""Item has been incorrectly described, so that it is now at customs. Assumption is denied article goes back."
I don't know what that means because via tracking it cleared Customs.

I had an international complaint on eBay. Guy opened a case and then started complaining about fees and shipping which I had nothing to do with
He attempted to leave negative feedback but eBay emiled me and said it was removed and cas was closed
I think eBay is pretty reasonable when it comes to the international stuff

I have a basic knowledge of German but nothing special....
Your translation is basically correct. He says the item was posted incorrectly and the item will be sent back you. What was the value of the card? What did you have it written down as? Looks like he doesn't want to pay custom fees... Contact me if you need any help. I'm by no means fluent but I'm decent. Bryce

I sold the card for $35.00 and that is what I listed as the value on the customs/shipping label. I believe I marked the label as, "Merchandise" and wrote in "trading card." How am I supposed to respond to him, when I cannot understand German on ebay.de? I found a page on ebay.com that states to follow the directions on the International eBay site. The problem is that the international site is in German!!

Use GLOBAL SHIPPING program through ebay and this stops all this BS. Best thing I ever did.

How do I go about signing up for the Global Shipping program?
I've read on other sites describing buyers having to pay customs fees, on items they bought, that they normally don't have to pay customs fees on. So this turns away the buyers to other sellers not part of the program. Thoughts?

He didnt pick the card up from Customs.Every card over 25.00 dollars we have to pay taxes.Sounds like he wanted you to send the card as gift.So he could try to get it through customs without paying. He never seen the card. And customs only waits 5 days and the send the card back.

Listing the card as a "gift" is considered mail fraud in United States. For him/her not to pay custom fees/taxes on it shouldn't mean for me to refund his money. I am not responsible for any duty taxes or custom fees.
Also, according to the tracking, 5 days is not up yet. It cleared customs on Tuesday, 8/28. It was "Delivered" the next day. If German Customs was sending the card back I doubt it would be marked as "Delivered".

Your right it was delivered. It just sounds like he doesnt want the card.Write him in English he understands you.Maybe hes in the Army or Airforce over here. The reason I say that is because we dont have this sport on T.V. over here.Nobody except Americans know who these guys are.If he´s German he´s watching this stuff on the computer and understands English.Hope this helps.
