I am a raw card guy as well.

I bust them out of cases, I don't worry about it.

Beautiful card!

if you don't like the case then the only thing dumb would be ruining the card trying to take it out...risk reward (not to much risk if you slowly bust the case imho done it many times for pc cards)

Beautiful card!

How exactly would one bust a card out of one of these BGS cases, they seem pretty thick and would be hard to do? without hurting the card?

Its the thick BGS case as well. Doesn't sit well in my PC case.

The thick BGS cases are very easy to break cards out of.

Bust it out, just be careful.

Do I lose any value breaking a 8.5 card like this out?

No you dont. Bust it if you want. Its your card you do whatever you see fit to it!! The more important question to ask here is will you divulge the grade it had prior to busting when you go to trade or sell it later?

If that's not what you want in your collection, Bust it. I'm kind weird, I don't like graded for how I store AU's, but like Graded for many of my RC's(non-auto)

I bust the cases off all the time!.... I'm not much into graded cards!

If you want to you can, an 8.5 probably does not add too much value, though it is a very condition sensitive set, so I could be wrong.

It's your card to do as you wish, I think the dumber thing would be to keep it as is and let it bother you if it does.

Ha I don't think this will move out of PC.

On a side note I don't think there are many 9.5/10 Chronology Autos out there, but if you would like I will state it was a 8.5. The back corners are the only issue with it from the naked eye.

Just want to make sure I don't lose a ton of value breaking this out. I don't think you can fake this card, so I just wanted to see if this 8.5 adds any value at all?

So you guys don't think there is any value lose by busting this out?????

Krayzie83

The only value added by the case in 8.5 form is long term preservation. You can hand it off to a toddler or drop it in a toilet and it'll still be near mint. Protection aside raw cards are priced in near mint shape so there's no value add on that front.

8.5 doesnt really add any value (there are some exceptions like certain sets). Just bust it.

Personally on a card like that I'd leave it just because of the protection it provides.

But hey, it's yours and if you want it out of there then do it! The BGS cases have that sleeve in there which acts as a case within a case so they are much tougher to damage than the PSA slabs.

I would also leave it.

You seem quite worried about value. So I'm assuming this isn't for a PC and you may be moving it in the future.

I personally think its shady to participate in that kind of practice. Others feel differently.

If you know how to bust it open then do it. Just don't ruin that beauty!!!!!!

I would leave it just for protection

I'd leave it. Is still a nice value add have it encased by BGS and 10 auto. 8.5 on condition sensitive set also does help. Seen many of those framed cards like that with peeling and paper loss on frame that kills the grade. Keep it as is.

Going to keep it for now. It is for PC though guys....
