For all of you sabermetrics fans or Mets fans, do you think Citi Field has hurt the Mets as a team? I still don't quite understand how that's possible, as the field's dimensions and such hurt the road team as well. Is it that the Mets lineup is more suited for a different park? It's crazy how they are only a half-game behind the Braves for best road record in the division.

If it were 2009, then I'd say yes, but the dimensions seem much better now. Much more even.

They may have a good road record, but Citi Field is not to blame for their home struggles. They're just not a good baseball team.

I just don't like all the garbage and debris that consistently blows out into the outfield. It makes the place look like a dump.

Citi Field and the Best Home Record in Baseball | Bleacher Report (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/404918-why-do-the-mets-have-the-best-home-record-in-baseball)

While I'd be curious to look at all 4+ years of batting/pitching stats in addition to home road w/l over the entire time theyve been there, it certainly cant be both a help and a hindrance in general.

I always find myself feeling annoyed every time I see a huge cloud of barbecue smoke whooshing in from the concession are beyond cf / left CF.
Seems to happen at least a couple three times a game when Ive been there.
I simply cant understand why anyone thought it would be a good idea
to make the stadium that much larger with the wind blowing IN.

I would move the fences back to the original dimensions, especially with Wheeler, Harvey, Syndergaard, Gee, Niese, Montero and the boys coming up. Then I'd sign Phil Hughes and try to get a couple of doubles/gap hitters.

Mike Stanton had no problem hitting home runs in Citi Field, I don't see how moving the fences in helped, and that "Great Wall of Flushing" was a great home field advantage. Remember A-Rod hitting a ball on the pin and hitting that wall and getting annoyed, that was worth the price of admission.

I wonder what Jason Bay's answer would be...

The drain on power can also prevent the Mets from signing really good hitters though I don't think it has yet simply because they haven't shown a ton of interest in any really good hitters in 4 years.

In addition to the garbage blowing around in the outfield, it also bothers me the amount Brookykn Dodgers stuff hanging up in the rotunda. I understand it's a tribute to Jackie Robinson and Ebbets Field, but it's just a bit too much.
