Marvel Retro Boxes - Where to Buy?

Hello,

I see a lot of Marvel Retro boxes being opened by you guys and I see a lot of you are getting really good inserts.

My question is - where are you guys purchasing these boxes? Only available online? At a store? I just called 6 stores in my area and not a single one knew what the 2013 Marvel Retro boxes were.

Any feedback / responses will be appreciated.

EDIT: I know they can be purchased through the Blowout Cards website but I was curious as to actual physical locations or is it online only?

Got my first two boxes from my LCS but they've run out. The next case came from a card show dealer, but he's out as well. It looks like most online sites are out as well.

I was able to get 1 box at $199 delivered and was happy with that (not as happy as if I had pre-ordered at about $165-$170, but happy none the less).

I had my LCS go find me a couple of boxes that should be arriving tomorrow. Good thing about my LCS, I'm paying what he is paying plus what it would cost for sales tax since he doesn't do Non Sports and finding it for me as a favor!

Just checked recent sales of wax and it doesn't look like you'd make enough selling it sealed for it to be worth it.

It's irrelevant what somebody pays for something when they sell it. If I goto a garage sale and find something rare for cheap doesn't mean I can't sell it for a lot.

If you search Upper Deck's website for a list of Upper Deck Authorized Internet Retailers, it will bring up a list of 10 U.S. retailers. It might be worth checking out, on Friday I was able to secure a case by checking each of the listed websites.

I ended up getting 1 case for Friday

I can't get anymore. And for 160 a box I will enjoy opening it

Good question. I am as confused as you are.
Each character has 160 PMG (100 red, 50 blue, 10 green). There are 42 characters so that is 6,720 total PMGs. I am seeing about 2 PMG per box. So I would guess there are supposed to be around 3360 boxes of Retro.
There have been around 800 PMGs sold on EBAY so far. I know not everyone sells, but that is only 12% of the PMGs. I would guess that 20-25% of the product has been opened so far.
So why isn't there more available? Prices are rising so people should be selling. Most of UD internet retailers are out of stock at the moment. Supply should be high right now with demand much lower due to the price increase, but that just does not seem to be the case.

Roughly 500 cases were made, based on the PMGs.

I can tell you that a lot of PMGs have been sold before they ever hit eBay, so it wouldn't shock me of close to 50% of thd product has been opened.

check out Legacy Sports Cards in Las Vegas... you can order from their website and i think they ship free for orders over $150.

i saw a few boxes of it in there just 2 days ago. you might still be able to snag them.

lots of misleading info here. there are not 2 pmgs per box. each case has around 8 pmgs (some less, some more, but mostly 8 for the avg). so more like 1.25 pmgs per box.

i sold a TON of red, blue and green PMGs offline before they ever hit ebay, feeding various collectors. i am just one person - you can bet a lot of the PMGs won't hit ebay.

i bet two-thirds of this has already been opened. and there wasn't that much to begin with.

it will probably be very hard to find anything less then the $240 to $250 range anymore for these boxes. THe $180 to $200 range was a presell and first week thing thats probably not coming back

Just passed by a Comic shop and turns out the owner had a box, I got it for $240 tax included. This is the only hobby store out of 4 that I've been to in the past week that's had a box. I'm definitely going to bust it. Can't believe I actually found one at a decent price.

I busted the box and couldn't be any happier :) I was beginning to get pretty nervous after opening the first 15 packs and the best pull at that point was a Green Goblin Red PMG /100 ... but, the final 5 packs yielded a Storm Red PMG /100 and ... Galactus GREEN PMG 09/10 !!! No more Retro boxes for me, one and done. If anyone wants to see a picture just ask.
