lol not a chance, they struggled against SD, if SD didn't give up or had a more elite qb they would have been spanked

Did you actually watch the game?

They got off to a slow start. Saying SD "gave up" is a moronic statement. They didn't give up. Rivers is not as bad as most think.

That was one of the better games I've seen Rivers play so I don't think that's fair to say. SB maybe not but they'll go far in the playoffs.

No way...

They have huge holes in their secondary and on the right side of their offensive line. Plus Foster has been declining each season since the first. Their defense as a whole has depth issues, especially at linebacker. If Cushing or Watt goes down they'll unravel like they did at the end of last season.

Sure, they can beat on the Jacksonville's and San Diego's of the NFL, but they won't make it past the second round of the playoffs.

First they have to beat a horrible Tenn team at home.

that would be a nice baby step.

It isn't so much that Foster is declining.....more like he is never healthy so coach is splitting the carries more and more and every couple of games it gets closer to 50%.

Offense is always ahead of the D first game......they will fix their mistakes and have a much better showing.

I see 24-17 win on sunday for starters....perhaps Tenn doesnt get to 17 too.

with an ailing Foster, and a suspect pass D, they are screwed... they won't be close...

They're good, imo, just need a better QB than Schaub.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That defense is supposed to be so good could not stop Rivers outside of one pass...4TDs with a
no name WR corp LOL...and Gates had 2 catche for 49

Look at their record against elite QBs (not saying rivers is one) and that defense
has been getting owned

no, Berman put America to sleep with his commentary

I don't think schaub is an elite qb to get them deep in the playoffs, defensive issues notwithstanding

they need to play their best ball at the end of the season. seems like they peaked out too early the last couple of years.

Not true... his yards per carry and yards per game have gone down every season since 2010 and his carries per game has gone up each season.

And don't forget that his receptions and receiving yards dropped drastically from 2011 to 2012.

Despite a lackluster Foster lately, and the agreement Schaub is not good enough, the thing that derails a Houston team almost every time is a key injury. Besides playing well at the end of the season to enter the playoffs more hotly, I want the Texans to show up in the playoffs completely healthy to assess their clout. Houston teams do not overcome key injuries well like the Rockets in the Yao and McGrady years and Texans between Schaub, Cushing, AJ, or even Foster having something nagging in January.

I realize all playoffs team probably have some sort of hindering injuries on the rosters, but most don't have a major player out. Even Brady flails in the playoffs without Gronk. The Packers were losing DBs during their SB run, but their offense was healthy and the biggest defensive injury was Woodson towards the end.
