I don't get it.. RPAs #/199 going for $400-500

He's averaging 9 pts for his career.

Even Derrick Williams career average is more and he's been considered a bust for the most part and his RPAs go for about $100.

Its just hype. Buyers are blowing their money. He'll never be a big name megastar so they will eventually be worth little money, sadly. That's the case for most players though.

I'd add Jimmy Butler and Jeremy Lamb too. Sure they both have potential... but their RPA's are selling wayyyy higher than I would've expected!

probably fuelled by speculation on panning out to be stars. I couldnt find any player to speculate this past year. :(

i don't know why, but i'm going to take advantage of it. The only problem is panini is being super slow about shipping mine out, even though they have been live for quite some time now...

It's cause of his play in the playoffs and finals and Williams was the 2nd overall pick Leonard was 13th or 14th can't compare that man.

If you can't see Leonard's potential then you don't watch a lot of basketball.

Crazy thing is, the Pacers could have had both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Talk about lockdown perimeter defense!

13 & 9 in the Playoffs - that's why - but I agree that if I had some Leonard's I'd be selling at the $400-$500 range. I'd just pick up some mid level ones. There are a lot of guys that do what he does that sell for a fraction of his price. I'm not saying these two players have the same ceiling - but they aren't far off.

Player A - 12 PPG, 6 RPG, 50% shooter, PER of 16.46
Player B - 12 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 49% shooter, PER of 16.12

You can get 5 NT RPA's of Player B for the price of Player A

Because Kawhi is a boss... And I guess it helps that he played well during the playoffs and finals. Plus, people are counting him to be the "face" of the Spurs franchise when the big three retire!

Because of the following:
1. His PER is pretty high for his age
2. His PER is top 5 among those under 25 in the playoffs. (durant, westbrook, harden). sorry curry, lawson didn't make that list cuz they are 25.
3. Highly efficient (yes i'm redundant as I already mentioned PER) and locked down defender (only player to really give Lebron some problems, James shot his lowest FG% against him).
4. Full of potential, per Popovich, he's gonna be a superstar and will be new face of the Spurs franchise. Spurs has always done well on their picks and at time willing to get rid of Hill for Kawhi.
5. In playoffs, where defense stiffens up, shot 55% FG almost 40% 3PT while guarding the toughest offensive player klay, curry, james.

If you don't know basketball, you'll see he's a bust in the making if so, PM me, I'll gladly pay you 250 for his NT RPA.

He's a future star, that's why.

His cards were release a month before the other group rookies. So expect the hype is still there. Lol

klay thompson is expected to be the next reggie miller.

But what a joke. Miller was a 47% career FG shooter.

Way to just make stuff up.

Harden, Durant, Westbrook, Cousins, Davis, Kyrie - that didn't take much effort to name more then 5 under 25 with higher PER's

i had corrected number 2. His PER is top 5 among those under 25 in the playoffs. and playoffs is where it REALLY counts!

I watch a lot of basketball, and as far as potential for scoring and marketability goes, I definitely don't see it.

I am willing to crossbook using quite a few players. PM me if interested.

And to answer the OP's question. Its because of his playoffs and it just so happens this is who fan-boys gravitated to.

One factor that has nothing to do with Kawhi is that most of the RPA's are redemptions that haven't yet been fulfilled.
Kemba's RPA was selling for 350+ when NT was first released, but now that the redemptions are filled and most of the 199 are finding their way to market, prices are dropping.
It's a term coined personally by me called.....wait for it.....Supply & Demand.

Wow, can you look in your crystal ball and tell me tomorrows lotto numbers as well???!! Trying to "predict" a players entire career in a sentence loses all your cred IMO. How do you know "He'll never be a big name megastar"? He is the best rookie of his class with FINALS experience and only getting better. Just because you dont realize this or cant afford Kawhi RPAs ( I know I cant) doesnt mean you can (try to) minimize his abilities.

Yea, its obvious you dont see many Spurs games. More than likely just playoffs/finals you saw...like those fanboys.

this is the second time you told someone that they cant afford a Leonard /199 (the other time was me)

how do you know what people can and cant afford. People are entitled to their opinion, doesn't mean they cant afford a card if they think its overpriced

i dumped $4000 into NT the last month btw, so you clearly cant tell someone what they can and cant afford

All about upside. He put up solid numbers in the postseason, impacts BOTH sides of the court, is still young, and will take on a bigger role as some of the older guys on the team are in decline. His PER is especially impressive if you factor in the role he is playing right now.
