So a buyer hits BIN on 2 of my auctions, a day a part from each other. He pays for the first item and it clears the next day. I ship out with tracking, etc so am covered with seller protection.

Now, It's been a week and he has stopped responding and has not paid for the 2nd item.

I need to go the NPB route but am worried about the item he already bought that's in the mail. It seems like he could leave a neg or file a claim in a backlash or something. Am I protected on all items, even though he paid for the first one?

Thanks!

He can leave bad feedback regardless - that is one of the problems with selling on ebay.

I would not file a NPB. Just take the loss of fees and re-list in a few weeks. And don't try to contact him any more.

agreed, best rout unless the item sold for over $1000 dont want to be hit with a $100 fee

Who is the buyer?? I'm having an issue with 701punkins227. Dude made an offer, I accepted it on Saturday evening. Hasn't responded but has been getting nonstop feedback about 20 a day since Sunday saying "Super fast Payment, and excellent ebayer".. Never had this happen before, I opened an unpaid buyer case but don't know what to do next. Any advise??

I've found that being persistent but respectful has worked. Sometimes they just need a little reminder.

That happened to me with the same buyer and I sent them 2 messages about paying and then told them I was going to open a case and they paid. Took about 10 days.

I sent 2 messages asking WTF and why did he keep buying other cards. No response, so I opened a case. Since sellers can't leave negative feedback, I might buy a card from him so I can hit him with one.

Same response I gave the other guy in the similar thread as this.

The only one who made the mistake here, is you, the seller. There's a reason eBay instituted the Immediate Payment Required on BIN listings. You failed to use it, so you wait. It's how it works. Now, you have to do the NPB route and wait some more.

Going to reiterate it here. NEW RULE: No more of these threads crying that "I sold a card using BIN and the buyer hasn't paid. It's been x number of days already. What do I do?" because you brought it on yourself. If you don't use the Immediate Payment Required, it's your own fault. Too many of these threads that don't need to be here. One simple thing fixes it completely.

And this is exactly why sellers can't leave negs anymore. "you negged me, so i'm going to neg you".

I still can't find where to set it to "immediate payment required", so is that something that is done automatically with eBay now?

Below copied from eBay -

Requirements to list with immediate payment
To require immediate payment for your item, you need to meet the following requirements:

Have a PayPal Premier or PayPal Business account when you list your item. Find out more about upgrading your PayPal account.

Have an eBay seller account in good standing.

Specify a Buy It Now price of no more than $10,000.

Specify shipping costs or offer free shipping when you list your item.

Include all other related costs, such as taxes, so your buyer knows exactly how much to pay.

It'll be a little check box right next to or right under the BIN option.

yea the feedback thing sucks, I just last night had an item sell an in person autograph and the buyer contacted me before the end of bidding asking if it was an authentic auto (like from a pack) and I said no, he buys the card anyway and than immediately leaves me feedback saying he isn't going to pay and that I could have just hand written the auto myself. I have no problem if that is his thinking because I'm sure there are people on ebay that do write autos and try to sell them. It just sucks that not only has he not paid for the item that others were bidding on but now I have bad feedback, why go through the trouble of all that just don't bid on that item if you have an issue with it.

sorry I'm not trying to hijack your thread, I just didn't feel like I needed a new one since the comment fed right into what I wanted to say.

If he don't pay file a unpaid item strike on him and give him a strike then call Ebay and the feedback will be removed.

You might have a shot at getting it removed anyway if they look at his messages they can see it was malicious bidding.

It's not at all why sellers can't leave negatives. Ebay has been trying for years to become Amazon, a retailer not a stinking auction house. Part of the 'adjustments' they made to try to get to this is with feedback.

On Amazon, you can rate a seller (or item) but the seller can't do anything except reply with apologies and promises to fix things.

That may be a small portion, but retalitory feedback was most definitely the main reason for the change. Ebay wanted their buyers to feel safe. Not have to worry about leaving truthfull feedback for fear of receiving some hog wash in return.

I don't like slow payers. I'm all for making NPB strikes public. But it is what it is when you sell on Ebay. Ebay says you have a minimum of six days to pay. Deal with it if you want to sell on the site. There is no reason a seller should be able to leave a neg to a buyer who paid within ebay's allotted time frame. Buying an item just to be able to leave a neg in return is absolute BS. Not to mention a reportable offense that can get the neg removed and a suspension from ebay.

I've been saying for at least 2 years now that if an NPB case closes without the person paying, it should be an automatic negative on the sellers account stating that the person never paid for their item. It should be a standard message so that nobody puts in personal attacks.
