I've gotten 8 of my long boxes of comics cataloged and I'm trying to figure out the best way to sell them. From the looks of it no one seems to know what the right price is on selling a collection so far. If you've missed my post check here but be warned, its a long list and only 50% done
http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/comic-buy-sell-trade/589079-selling-my-collection-need-help-please-pricing.html
I've been offered $1500 on the collection but that's less then 30 cents a book and I don't know if that is a good price, or a bad price. If you have experience buying large collections please let me know what you think that collection is worth. I will be updating that post until my entire collection is listed.
So I've looked on ebay to see the prices on some of my books and I'm smart enough to know to get the most money for the collection I probably should sell them individually right? But what I don't understand about selling them like that is how the best, and most importantly, how the cheapest way to mail a comic book is?
Some sellers ask for $5 shipping. Some sellers only ask for $2 in shipping. I have read the stickey on how to mail comics but lets get real. If you sold a $3 book on ebay are you going to that much trouble to ship it? I don't think so. From the looks of the stickey that would be how you send in a comic you want to get graded right?
So with cards I've learned over the past two years how to save a lot of money on overhead for shipping like buying 500 envelops for $35 bucks and not buying retail envelops. Same with Team Bags, get them for $1 online not $5 at the LCS. So what are the cheap ways to ship comic books? I can't seem to find that information anywhere. Please tell your secrets. Thanks!

I would bump the price up a few dollars and eat the rest of the shipping. I know its probably not the answer you were looking for but if I were you I'd sell off keys and rarer books in your collection one by one. Whatever you have left there are some possibilities you could either put up a long box for 5-10 bucks each and sell outright or take em to a comic book shop and if he needs inventory get store credit. With the store credit you could then maybe buy another key or 2 and resell thus hedging your losses cause selling common issues at .25-.30 cents on ebay will zap your time and strength scanning, keeping track of what you have up for sale and what shipped book went where/when not to mention all the shipping slips to keep tabs on.

I just noticed you're in Fort Worth. Email mycomicshop.com. They will probably give you more for the collection. And you could just drive it over and drop it off. Done. But if you want us to pick up key issues, then I already PMed you hah.

Amazon.com: (100) MODERN AGE Mailer - Comic Book Mailer (Holds 1 - 12 Comics Securely for Shipment): Office Products (http://www.amazon.com/100-MODERN-AGE-Mailer-Securely/dp/B007JAY9BA)
These are the best things I've ever purchased. They are so easy to use, I've gotten great feedback from all buyers using these. They fit perfectly in to a usps priority legal mailer. So shipping is always $5.75. I swear by them at this point.

Set a minimum to order? Cheap $5 books are still a product to be respected till it gets to the buyer, no matter the price.

Even if it is just a $5 book I still ship it properly especially if the customer is paying for the shipping fee.

Those are nice; you can probably send a few books in one of those and still come in at First Class rates can't you?

That's what I am talking about! Thank you for posting this. Next question, what would you charge for shipping using your method?

I agree that's why I'm asking so I don't screw up. The link in the stickey is awesome didn't mean to disrespect with my post. My issue is time and volume. If I part the collection out I
have 1000 books, and to do all of that is too time consuming
